Default Dallas locations to sell coins

Hello all, been a while since I lurked around here. I'm in a financial pinch right now and am sadly looking to sell four 1oz Canadian maples in the Dallas area. The best I've been able to find is dealers willing to pay 3% under spot. I have two questions:
    1. Is this normal? I've had offers of 10-15% under spot locally and like I said 3% is the best I've been able to find in Dallas. This is the first time I've sold coins, figured I could at least get spot for a well know legal tender coin.
    2. Does anyone know of a better place to go in the Dallas area?

You could try craigslist and prob get $3-4 over spot for them. Just meet in a public place or a bank and you should probably be OK.

Provident Metals (.com) buys silver and gold, go to the website and look up your particular coins and see if they are paying over spot. I believe they do on most items and they list the buy price right on the item page. Give them a call if you like the price and they'll set it up. You'll have to mail the coins to a post office box in Lavon, TX (no walk in sales) but first class shipping shouldn't be too much and if you are local, get there in a day or so. You get a check pretty quickly too.

Wow, thank you so much. I will call them tomorrow and see if I can deliver them, they are only 21 miles from me, seems ridiculous to spend the postage + insurance for that short of a distance. If not I'll drive to the Lavon PO and mail it there, lol.

Thanks again for taking the time to help me.

    From provident, http://www.providentmetals.com/policies.html#ordering

Not only do we sell coins & bullion at the most competitive prices available, we also offer excellent prices for coins & bullion to those wishing to sell. See the tables below for our current buy prices. The prices listed are indications only and may change as market conditions demand. Note the minimum amount to sell is $250.

Maybe they will make an exception though.

APMEX pays over spot. Pretty quick service.

Well I'm selling four 1oz Canadian Maples so we're taking about $6500-7000 here, I don't think that will be a problem unless I'm missing something. Thanks for the input.

Ah, my stupidity in the original post, I should have said I'm selling four 1oz Canadian GOLD Maples, I understand what you were saying now. My bad, sorry.

My thanks to you as well for helping, I apologize for my ambiguity.
