A Massive Spike In The Price of Silver Is Imminent

    Source: Hubert Moolman - April 18, 2012

Gold and silver are very close to entering the mania phase of this bull market. In order for gold and silver to go into the mania phase, value has to be diverted from somewhere, and that “somewhere” is most likely stocks. Since 2000, there has been a correction in stock values, in real terms; however, nominally, stocks are still significantly high (close to its all-time highs).

I expect that significant value will soon be diverted from the general stock market, to silver and gold, causing prices to rally significantly, until these metals also become overvalued.

This is exactly what happened in 2007/2008. Below is a graphic (charts from barchart.com) that illustrates how this happened in 2007/2008:

The top chart is for the S&P 500 and the bottom is for silver. I have drawn a yellow line, at the point where the S&P 500 peaked. It is only after the peak in the S&P 500 that silver broke out, and eventually rallied significantly (while the S&P 500 was crashing). From a “fractal” point of view, we are currently in a similar position, with stocks getting ready to peak.

He sounds like a rocket. I think I've read a post a week for the last two years,
spouting the same nonsense. Someone different every week, claims the same thing.

I'm all for silver, but the claims are getting ridiculous.

Oh ye of little faith, remember this song?

Next time your found, with your chin on the ground
There a lot to be learned, so look around

Just what makes that little old ant
Think he'll move that rubber tree plant
    Anyone knows an ant, can't
    Move a rubber tree plant

But he's got high hopes, he's got high hopes
He's got high apple pie, in the sky hopes

So any time your gettin' low
    'stead of lettin' go
    Just remember that ant
Oops there goes another rubber tree plant

When troubles call, and your back's to the wall
There a lot to be learned, that wall could fall

Once there was a silly old ram
Thought he'd punch a hole in a dam
No one could make that ram, scram
    He kept buttin' that dam

'Cause he had high hopes, he had high hopes
He had high apple pie, in the sky hopes

So any time your feelin' bad
    'stead of feelin' sad
    Just remember that ram
Oops there goes a billion kilowatt dam

All problems just a toy balloon
    They'll be bursted soon
They're just bound to go pop
Oops there goes another problem kerplop

There's also a song, something along the lines of "Daydream believer"

I do have faith in silver, and hey if it goes to the moon great. On the other hand, if I buy today, and five years from now the price is $42, I'm delighted with that.
I just don't buy in to the "Get rich quick" videos that pop up every other week.

Interesting article and analysis. I hope he is right. I believe that we have already seen the lows in silver for this correction at $26ish, but, like most everyone else am getting irritated waiting for something to happen. I am getting more bullish though because of the overall sentiment which is lousy and getting worse. There doesnt seem to be hardly anyone still bullish anymore. TPTB are shaking the trees real hard trying to get some more people to cave in and sell. I suspect they are running out of people left to sell though. Time will tell I guess.

I am hoping for one more beatdown. I have some dry powder I am hopeful to deploy.

Dayum, you people are old. No wonder they won't let the metals spike. They're afraid 2/3 of ya'll will die off.
Silver is my money for today, gold is the insurance for my tomorrow, and FRN's are simply the compost I use to grow it all.

It appears that we will not see a massive spike in the price of silver at this time since a rocket got launched on GIM2.
ATTENTION!!!!!! Read this very carefully: My gut feeling on silver is just that.......A gut feeling. I have absolutely nothing to back up my gut feeling with.

My gut says........Silver will NOT hit and hold $50 before 2015.

I had to delete the prior post as it included an incorrect chart.

    Nice thread you started southfork

Interesting comments by some posters on the possibility of an explosive up move in silver. IMO, should silver hold above the 30 mark (no reversal into a row of O's) on this LT configuration 2 x 3 P & F chart, it will continue the up move already in progress from the #2 Double Top buy signal formation. It should also be noted that this particular pattern is a "market bottom" indicator in The Point & Figure three point reversal charting method.

No doubt it will be quite interesting to watch play out in the near-term.

Yesterday on Bloomberg they were interviewing the CEO of the company that owns the Endeavor mine in Mexico among others. He said he sees silver trading sideways for the rest of the year. He also said they are ramping up production and buying out any good junior miners and explorers they come across.

That's probably what most of the big miners are doing so if I were still playing in the market, I'd be doing my DD on the juniors as buy out candidates while we give silver time to build another head of steam.

I don't want a blowoff top in silver. I want a Voyager mission. I want it up and never coming back down. Same for gold.

My very first new car was a 1976 Ford Granada. My-oh-my, those were the days. I was only 31 years old in '76. What a great year!

My first silver purchase was in January, 2004, at $6.31 an ounce. If, during the next 8 years, silvers performs the same as the past 8 years, the price will be at $127.14 an ounce. I'd settle for that, lol.

    P.S., that's better than 22% annual return.

would be interesting if true. currently buying interest is stagnated with the prices tracking sideways. After prices rise, seems like people panic and rush to buy (at a higher price), which is kinda dumb.

A spike in price is interpreted as "proof" that silver is going to go up.

At least that's the way it is for the inexperienced...

For the short-term traders, this sideways stagnation is death. They probably won't touch this horse again until it shows indications that it's going to start bucking again.

Relatively inexperienced personal opinion here...but that's the way it is appearing to work.

The old-timers here once gave me great advice; "buy and hold".
I've made a lot and lost a lot since, but overall im double where I entered simply 'cause im sitting on physical.
