Default Entries to GIM Hall of Fame?

I am going to get this going and nominate a few here:

    GKhan

One of the original Founders of GIM, built the forum after getting tossed from another, hated conflict, yet stood up for freedom of speech,
A true patriot who worked without fanfare to build GIM into a known commodity.

    Barnacle Bob

One of the original Founders of GIM, who possessed a incredible library of information that would leave you in awe, eventually becoming one of those who put their boots where their mouth was, and went off radar. One of our scholars, a true patriot, and a good person.

    Founding Fathers

Again, another Founding Father of GIM, brought a treasure trove of information to help build this forum, and participated over all the years to help grow it to what it is. Stood along side Khan on all matters of free speech vs censorship using the term 'all men have a right to make a fool of themselves' or 'freedom is not pretty'.

Now I am going to add a couple of more entrants:

    Johnny Silver Bear
    http://www.silverbearcafe.com/privat...1/welcome.html
He puts up incredible information and articles, and has been doing so for many years, I should know as I plagiarize his site regularly. He continues to carry the flag to this day, and is one of the guys we need to recognize as helping to wake people up.

    HyperTiger
Some will remember him, others will not, but there is one thing for sure, the guy was absolutely controversial in his manner of presentation, but the message was spot on. There was no question that some hated the guy, and others took him at face, but it was always a treat

This is going to be a multiple choice poll,

Where you can vote for members for entry into the hall,

I am kind of stumbling through this as I go guys,

would also like some input as to how many votes should a person get to be granted entrance????

    other ideas are certainly welcomed,

I had figured to vote on this first group, and we would compile another group after the first group gains access to the Hall.

I too have a number of persons I would consider HOF material,

They are all great guys. I voted for all except Johnny Silver Bear even though he is a good guy, I never remember him being a member here -- that was why I didn't vote for him. I figured the hall of fame was just for members/former members of the site. If non members can be in the hall of fame, then Chalk one up for JSB.

As a Founding Member of the original GIM and finding three other Founders on the list that I truly respect it is tough to pick one. However, there was a person that not only helped me better understand the metals markets but also the manipulation of those markets. We both joined GATA back in 1999 as "GATA Warriors" and took a giant step in educating all that would listen with an open mind when we opened GIM.

I voted for a great person and a real friend - G Khan.

I nominate RichG and Strawboss, they have not been mentioned previously.

As far as the GIM "Hall of Fame" is concerned, all nominees should be in unless there is a strong reason why they should not be. No votes needed, no need to make it a personal/political issue, as all are worthy if him/her is in the discussion. M2C

    Thanks guys,

I am going to nominate 5 at a time, 'til I get thru the initial groups,

and I agree with all stated, so we will get thru them over time and add as we go,

What I was thinking was that those that gain entrance, I start a thread for each of them in the HOF, where we can add to the legend with stories or what have you,

Along with the founding members I'd have to say FasTTcar. The guy walks the walk. He -for me- epitomizes what GIM is about. He put his money where his mouth is and more, he's willing to help any other member with incredibly valuable info. The man is a gold mine all by himself.

Au-myn, your name definitely belongs on the list. I remember a few of your very uncanny calls on market action in gold on GIM1. I'd be a much richer man today had I been paying more attention.

    Scorpio,

Maybe each one being considered should get their own thread and a poll with a "yes" and "no" option (private poll, of course). There could be a time frame (like 1 week) for voting, and a minimum percentage to get in (like 75% or so in favor).

I think there should also be some criteria as to what nominations are accepted. Can current members be in the hall of fame? Can new members be in the hall of fame (like people who suddenly appear and get scannned by bombers)?

    yep SLV,

I think over time we can put in something of that order to it,

For now I am trying to put through some long time or long ago members that deserve to go on in,

To get it started if you will, thinking along the lines of people who helped make this place what it is and are now on to other stuff,

    more or less inactive here,

and yes, there are certainly current members who deserve to go in over time also, and that may be the time to put in a program as you say,

we will have a initial surge of members going in, then after that it will taper down

and yes, the question was posed, does it include non-members of gim? Good question, and maybe we should concentrate on members only, past and present, then go from there?

Regarding some of these old old members, like BB, he has to go in regardless of voting IMO, 'cause many may not remember him or know of him, but he is one of those instrumental in creating this place and his information was second to no one. It wasn't market news and stuff like that, it was hard research about govt, money, and legal.

Drill and Fill wrote some of the cleverest stuff I have ever read on the Internet.

His 419 Nigerian Scam letter from Hank Paulson to the 'Peoples of the American Republic' went viral.

Book had some classic cartoons before he went joo happy. His survivor-backpacker mushroom cloud cartoon was 'borrowed' for the cover of Farfel's survival book, showing a GIMmer as the last man standing after WWIII.

The poster I most looked up to as mentor; GKHAN.

The poster most qualified as evil genius; HYPERTIGER. If I only read one item on this whole fourm, it would be HT's thesis on the Babylonian Breakdown and how the elite maintain control of the universe.

But mostly, I would thank what's his name from Gold Eagle. If he wasn't such a total suk up to the gold miners we would never had a GIM revolution.

I would qualify GIM as one of the first true FREEDOM OF SPEECH, thought and expression sites on the net.

And who could forget Silver Sammy's "SELL" call at 4.80 silver?

The following is one of a handful of files from the G-E forum that I saved. Each file saved had useful information, most of which were technical analysis for future reference. This particular file was saved because I found a poster that was studying and using Point & figure charting and wanted to remember his name so I could introduce myself and exchange thoughts and analysis. It is also a bit of history for GIM because it is when G Khan first met FoundingFathers. This has been cut & pasted from my original file. May 22, 2002. You may want to start from the bottom and go up as that is the time sequence.

You raise a great point that I also find ironic. You can go to any other forum - a tech forum like Cisco for example - and the message is pretty much the same, just a different theme.

Admittedly, we all have the same desires, and we all believe fervently in the means to achieve them. Now, I would argue that gold fundamentals are much, much stronger than tech fundamentals, but I guarantee you, for every gold bug there are thousands of gold bug skeptics with just as derogatory descriptions of us as we have of them. And that is precisely why we should not waste our time engaging in random slander.

Many eyewitnesses saw some kind of craft hit the Pentagon. Was what they saw a Boeing 757-200 or was it a missile?

Eyewitnesses confirm having seen something fly into the Pentagon. However, their accounts differ largely when it comes to describing the nature of the aircraft in more detail.

When playing COMEX silver ,gold options discipline is the order of the day.Buying them at the right price is imperitive. When considering how many, what month, what strike price,etc---Much thinking needs to be done then you have to be ready to execute your plan. You might want to place open orders with your broker and let the market come to you.In this PM bull I would not hesitate too much if you don't get your price as the train might leave without you.

I've always liked to formulate a plan that employs close to or at the money options.Buying them in groups of 3-10-20-50-100--or whatever is fine.Always have an entry and exit srategy and stick to it.Time decay will be your biggest enemy=Get out of your closer month options if they are not profitable or roll them out to farther out months.Consider commisions if you have a broker,as an online broker is much cheaper. This is not intended as advice, but right now DEC.2002 5.00 to DEC.2003 5.00 bought at the right price could produce a fortune for the lucky owner even if the silver price only gets to the 5.50-7.50 range!!!!I have been putting my eggs in this nice little basket. One more thing,if they change the rules on a substantial price rise then we will have to settle up in FRN's upon liquidation.

    Hello
    (FoundingFathers) May 22, 00:03
I have been a lurker on this forum for over a month now and am grateful for all of the great information and mostly intelligent conversation. I started in PM last summer by buying NEM and AU because those were the only PM stocks I knew. I started buying gold stocks strictly on a TA basis but after reading the editorials on this site ( which I have recommended to many people )
my eyes have truly been opened - I feel like Neo in the Matrix having swallowed the red pill ( or was it the blue pill? )

Anyway- thanks for the good info - I now own many Junior miners and my next step is physical. By the way,
my daily P&F charts clearly show Gold in a bull market (support @ 307) and silver just breaking thru resistance. But we all knew that....

    Gold's a loser-Cramer
    (deminimus) May 22, 00:01
Regarding James Cramer's most recent 5/21 article as posted by cabal breaker at 16:47.

It must be extremely irritating for analyst Cramer to have to take time from his busy schedule to address the rising gold market...seems that the callers to his radio show are asking too many questions about gold stocks taking him away from his real love, that of over valued/over-hyped dow and duck bombs. What pesky little creatures are those gold bugs, huh?

Alas, poor young student Cramer. (I have been taught...blah, blah, blah) Perhaps a bit too much partying, and not enough studying? Not that I blame him too much for that, eh?, but it must be very unnerving for many of these top touted mainstream analysts to have completely missed this market; they did not see it coming, can't undertand it, don't know it, and won't study it now.

Cramer will eventually have to jump onboard the train, but he, like many others, will be extremely late. Must be tough when you think you're on top of your game, to miss an easy lay-up. A rap across young student Cramer's knuckes with a ruler...just as an attention getter. Get a helmet on, James, and get in the game.

U.S. dollar slips to nearly six-month low, Tokyo stocks rise

TOKYO -- The U.S. dollar slipped to a nearly six-month low against the yen Wednesday morning on further optimism over Japan's economy. Tokyo stocks advanced.

The dollar bought 123.90 yen in late morning trading, down 1.74 yen from late Tuesday in Tokyo and also below its late New York level of 124.09 yen overnight.

The benchmark 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 106.59 points, or 0.90 percent, to 11,907.75 at the end of the morning session. On Tuesday, the average fell 55.83 points, or 0.47 percent.

In currencies, the dollar remained under selling pressure after the Japanese government said Wednesday that economic activity rose 1.2 percent in March from the previous month, Dow Jones Newswires reported.

The data come on the heels of the Cabinet Office's announcement last week in its May economic report that the economy was bottoming out based on stronger exports.

Zenbei Mizoguchi, who heads the Finance Ministry's international bureau, joined Wednesday in warning against excessive appreciation in the yen.

"There is no change in our foreign exchange stance that we will take proper measures as needed," Dow Jones quoted Mizoguchi as telling reporters.

On Tuesday, Finance Minister Masajuro Shiokawa also hinted that authorities might intervene in the exchange market by selling yen and buying dollars to stem the Japanese currency's rapid rise.

The dollar last traded below 124 yen in Tokyo on Dec. 3, when it hit 123.64 yen in late trading.

Also negatively affecting the dollar Wednesday in Tokyo was recent weakness on Wall Street.

In other currencies, the euro was traded at 113.72 yen, down from 115.61 yen late Tuesday in Tokyo.

On the stock market, the Nikkei index opened lower after Wall Street's retreat on Tuesday dampened sentiment.

In New York, the Dow Jones industrial average lost 123.79 to 10,105.71 at Tuesday's close. The Nasdaq composite index ended at 1,664.18, down 37.41.

    Industry and Silver
    (G-khan) May 21, 23:56
Demand for Silver will increase with the price and what will industry do? They are going to start buying to ensure they have enough on hand to stay in business and they will buy now at a lower price to have an edge on the competition. When this happens stocks of Silver may be depleted in days. If you want to own physical Silver you may want to consider doing it now as tomorrow it may be out of stock until the price rises high enough. At what price will the Silver come back into the system at a rate that will keep up with rising demand? How much will demand increase when investors realize there is a shortage? In 1980 there was no real shortage or supply deficit and the price went above 50 an ounce. Greed is going to start driving Silver prices soon.

Actually the demand for oil will be down after an exchange of the type you seem so keen on occurs. Oh, there will be an initial surge when people around the globe panic and try to flee the fallout that rolls in on prevailing winds, but after a week or two of exposure, most of us should be too weak to drive anymore.

Come on. The fundamentals for a POG increase are sound. Your sarcasm is misplaced - at least, I hope it is sarcasm.

Has anyone else noticed similar problems?:

My online portfolio has been updated with current prices real-time (I think) and always after the close at the least. Since Monday, as the politically correct markets sank, the prices have not updated. So those who look at their Dow/NASDAQ stocks infrequently and superficially are seeing last week's higher prices, and politically incorrect investors in the PM's like myself are not seeing the higher stock prices of the last two days. The quotes are working just fine, but it seems that the updating mechanism has been conveniently shut off.

    Coincidence?

Also, has anyone noticed that Bloomberg TV has occasional problems displaying the PM charts when PMs are moving up? Arithmetic overflows?

Gold is within a couple of bucks of issueing a double top buy signal at $320 on one of my LT P&F charts. The x30 ($30 reversal)configuration chart is scaled at $10 a square. It was originally designed for useage when the shiney yellow metal is in the $500 and higher range as the percentage change will be much lower and the formations will appear much more clearly. There are two important references on this chart presently that I would like to make note of.

    1) Gold has moved downward very tightly within the declining trend channel of this chart which verify that the bearish support and bearish resistance lines indicate this channel is valid. The bottom in January 98' touched the support line and bounced up. This occurance happened two additional times- in August 98' and June 99' when gold was just above this support line and rebounded
both times. The bearish resistance line was challenged on two occasions- in October 99' and February 00'and turned down both times.

    2) Presently, when gold hits $320 it will issue a buy signal AND penetrate the bearish resistance line that has been valid since the February 96' top.

If any TA's and chartists have LT monthly charts on gold please compare these notes and let me know if they line up with your charts and if not, any additional support and resistance levels you have would be welcome as I would like to cross reference other methods.

One additional note. The current bullish resistance line that was recently drawn in is $390. Plenty of room on the ST up side.

i find that the old timers have already had their day and the 'transition' of todays forum is taking shape...I think the new GIM is more interesting with Silver Art (a/k/a outlaw josey wales). i nominate him because of the interest in boring old silver bars..... us old guys warned of 'TBTF' and bank collapse when the 'normal world' thought of us as 'wackos and nuts' and no one was TBTF....terms like TPTB and PPT were invented on these forums at the turn of the century, but it wasnt just from one or two individuals it was group think.

I agree 100% with SLV, new/current members should get a straight in/out vote. As it stands any broke leg poster could find their way in.

I also think you (Scorp) should just stick everyone on the current list (except for JSB?!?!) straight in, as folks like hyperkitty and BB haven't posted in what, 5 years? BTW, if you put in Hyperkitty, you gotta add Midas/Panda!

    My suggestions:

Silver Streak, Bullionaire, JoeJeweler, V10Silver, ThreeJTribe, Gpond, and my old nemesis, Zukher.
