Default Russia stunned after Japanese plan to evacuate 40 million

    WTF?

A new report circulating in the Kremlin today prepared by the Foreign Ministry on the planned re-opening of talks with Japan over the disputed Kuril Islands during the next fortnight states that Russian diplomats were “stunned” after being told by their Japanese counterparts that upwards of 40 million of their peoples were in “extreme danger” of life threatening radiation poisoning and could very well likely be faced with forced evacuations away from their countries eastern most located cities… including the world’s largest one, Tokyo.
The Kuril Islands are located in Russia’s Sakhalin Oblast region and stretch approximately 1,300 km (810 miles) northeast from Hokkaidō, Japan, to Kamchatka, Russia, separating the Sea of Okhotsk from the North Pacific Ocean. There are 56 islands and many more minor rocks. It consists of Greater Kuril Ridge and Lesser Kuril Ridge, all of which were captured by Soviet Forces in the closing days of World War II from the Japanese.
The “extreme danger” facing tens of millions of the Japanese peoples is the result of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Disaster that was a series of equipment failures, nuclear meltdowns, and releases of radioactive materials at the Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant, following the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami on 11 March 2011.
According to this report, Japanese diplomats have signaled to their Russian counterparts that the returning of the Kuril Islands to Japan is “critical” as they have no other place to resettle so many people that would, in essence, become the largest migration of human beings since the 1930’s when Soviet leader Stalin forced tens of millions to resettle Russia’s far eastern regions.
Important to note, this report continues, are that Japanese diplomats told their Russian counterparts that they were, also, “seriously considering” an offer by China to relocate tens of millions of their citizens to the Chinese mainland to inhabit what are called the “ghost cities,” built for reasons still unknown and described, in part, by London’s Daily Mail News Service in their 18 December 2010 article titled: “The Ghost Towns Of China: Amazing Satellite Images Show Cities Meant To Be Home To Millions Lying Deserted” that says

The Japanese have no plans to admit there is a radiation problem and no plans to evacuate Fukushima prefecture (pop. about 2 million) nevermind Tokyo. 40 million would be 1/3 of the total Japanese population.

Yes, there is a border dispute, but the islands are very small and cold. This is BS.

They will just say those Japanese wanted to take a vacation. All those Japanese "tourists" will stay longer, because they were "stressed out".

My exact same thought. Odds are that this is a Sorcha Faal story. Most the time you can match up the headlines from Eutimes with Whatdoesitmean. Not this time.... they must be getting better at covering the tracks.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Fukushima is worse than they are telling... Where's wikileaks when you need them?

    Just found this:

China slams Japan's move over Diaoyu Islands

China's patrol ship "Haijian 50" patrols in waters near the Diaoyu Islands, March 16, 2012. The patrol by China Marine Surveillance, the country's maritime law enforcement authorities, was carried out by two patrol ships "Haijian 50" and "Haijian 66", which arrived in waters near the Diaoyu Island and its affiliated isles in the early morning of Friday. Authorized by the Chinese State Council, the State Oceanic Administration (SOA), the country's maritime authority, and the Ministry of Civil Affairs released standard names of the Diaoyu Island and its affiliated isles recently. Photo: Xinhua

China Tuesday condemned Japan's registration of one of the four islands near the Diaoyu Islands in the East China Sea as its national asset, slamming Tokyo's move as "unlawful and invalid."

"Any unilateral move surrounding the Diaoyu Islands and its adjacent islets taken by Japan is unlawful and invalid, and cannot change the fact that the islands belong to China," foreign ministry spokesperson Hong Lei said.

"China will continue to take necessary measures to firmly safeguard sovereignty over the Diaoyu Islands and the affiliated isles," Hong said, reiterating that the Diaoyu Islands and other affiliated isles have been an inherent part of Chinese territory since ancient times, and China holds indisputable sovereignty over them.

Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Osamu Fujimura announced Monday that one of the four islands near the Diaoyu Islands had been registered as a national asset by Tokyo.

Japanese officials said the registration is unlikely to be applied to the three other islands because "they are owned by civilians," the Kyodo News Agency reported.

Last August, Tokyo placed 23 uninhabited islands under state control, but the four islands near the Diaoyu Islands were exempted out of consideration for China, Kyodo added.

Liu Jiangyong, a deputy director of the Institute of International Studies at Tsinghua University, told the Global Times that Japan's move is part of its recent efforts to further demonstrate its territorial claims in the area.

"It can also be viewed as a probing activity to test Beijing's reaction, as Japan might try the same trick to register other islands in the area as its state assets in the future," Liu said.

The latest move came after Tokyo named 39 isolated, uninhabited islands earlier this month, including some of the Diaoyu Islands, which already drew strong objections from China.

On the following day, China's State Oceanic Administration released standard names and descriptions of the Diaoyu Islands and its affiliated isles.

On March 16, a Chinese maritime surveillance fleet consisting of two patrol vessels arrived in waters near the Diaoyu Islands for a regular patrol, but was followed by a Japan Coast Guard patrol ship.

Despite tensions, Liu said territorial disputes between China and Japan are still manageable.

"We might witness more confrontations between maritime units of the two countries in the waters near the Diaoyu Islands due to reinforced surveillance efforts by both sides, but the use of force is unlikely," Liu said.

Diaoyu Islands are even smaller than one's up north. It's all about oil and gas, and has nothing to do with Fuku, except that Japan desperately needs an energy source and obviously, nuclear isn't working out for them.

If I remember correctly, about 250,000 japanese have officially moved their residence overseas so far. That includes only those who have bothered to go to city hall and register as living in foreign countries. Who knows how many are on permanent vacation? My stepmother tutors ESL to a couple of kids of a family that fled.

The foreign population in Japan has been dropping for 3 years - since before the disaster - probably due to economics.
