Any reports from this years show, I am trying to decide whether to stop by. Its a shame they have this show the same time as Baltimore, because I think it could be a lot bigger show

Sorry I missed this thread earlier sf. I don't have two nickels to rub together these days so I won't be going. Please soak up all the art bars for me and sell them to me at melt at the next show

Went today, a dissapointment compared to prior years, someone told me the table cost was too high and it made some dealers avoid the show, I estimate 1/3 less dealers. Didnt price any gold but they were might proud of their silver, ranging from 1.50 to 5 over for generics, eagles were 4 and up over best I saw, the 25th anniversary sets were asking 675 for ngc ms 69 and the 70s could be had for around 1025, there was not a lot of silver or gold compared to the last several years, this had been a productive show for me in years past, only saving grace I stopped and a pawn shop on the way back and got 17 ounces at melt and there were some prospectors, ebars and 3 sae's in the lot, then the lcs picking up some one gram gold bars at melt and some 2 5 ounce old pour engelhards and a 10 old pour with the bull logo at 28 an ounce, also got 6 1996 SAE's bu for 35 each.

I would avoid the show CPT, not worth the drive.

Hopefully the fun show in Orlando will be better than the Clearwater show

I was also at the Clearwater show and thought that the dealer count was down. However, on the upside I did find a couple of local dealers that I didn't know about and went to their shops and was suprised at their stock. I also made a couple of contacts with a couple of out of town dealers that do sound as good contacts for future buying opportunities.

So on one side it was productive but also a little disappointing. Last year I went on Friday and the place was alive with business and dealers. This year I went on Saturday afternoon and everyone looked like were ready for a nap. I almost went back on Sunday to pick up a couple more things but decided against it.

Southfork: You went there on Friday and I on Saturday. Last years show was much better. On the other hand I will say that I've tried doing some business with a couple of pawn shops almost an hour drive north of the show on many occasions but always came away very disappointed with both their stock and prices and have not been back since. Would like to find other possibilities.

I didn't come accross this thread until today.

Nam, next one is this week the Orlando summer fun, thursday, friday and sat, Im going thursd and friday, saturday is normally a bust as most dealers head out, aside from Clearwater, the Sarasota show is good along with the Lakeland show, other than www.funtopics.com this week not much in that area I know of worth the trip.

SF thanks for the info. Didn't know about the Sarasota and Lakeland shows when are they? I was planning on going over to Orlando on Saturday but now I'm not so sure. Can't make it on Thurs or Fri. Sounds like it would have been a 3+ hours round trip on Saturday. Isn't there a fun show in Orlando during the winter months. In the back of my mind I think that the cpt was talking about a winter show there if I'm not mistaken.

I've book marked the funtopics web site for future use. The only other smaller local shows that I know about were the ones in St Pete and Brandon. I've enjoyed myself there the times that I've gone but the St Pete show is much easier of the two for me to get to. But they are small but enjoyable.
