Man Eats Dog Alive While High on Synthetic Marijuana

WACO (KWTX-TV)—A Waco, Texas man faces a charge of cruelty to a non-livestock animal in a bizarre incident in which he attacked and ate his family dog. Michael Terron Daniel, 22, claims he was high on the drug K-2, also known as synthetic marijuana, when the attack occured.

Police say Daniel chased a neighbor while barking and growling like a dog and then attacked a family dog, which he beat, strangled and then started to eat. Daniel was arrested Monday at his workplace without incident, police said.

The arrest stems from an incident on June 14th. A caller to 911 reported that a man was “going crazy.” The man, who evidently assaulted several people at the home and told them he “was on a bad trip from ingesting K-2, ”got down “on his hands and knees and chased a neighbor while barking and growling like a dog,” according to witnesses, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.

The man then took a medium-sized black dog onto the front porch of the home where he beat and strangled the animal and then “began to bite into the dog, ripping pieces of flesh away,” Swanton said. The dog died at the scene.

Officers found Daniel sitting on the porch with blood on his hands, clothing and face, Swanton said. He was “initially incoherent and unresponsive,” Swanton said, and was taken to Providence Health Center by ambulance. While waiting for paramedics to arrive, Swanton said, Daniel asked officers to fight him or use a stun gun “to help him get off his bad trip,” Swanton said. Officers did neither, Swanton said.

K-2 is a form of synthetic marijuana. None of the chemicals the herbal product contains is a copy of anything found in cannabis, although the effects can be similar. Studies suggest synthetic cannabis use is associated with psychosis and the exacerbation of existing psychotic disorders. Extreme paranoia, hallucinations and violent behavior have also been reported.

This past political primary season, I would ask candidates, "do you think we should still be putting people in jail for smoking pot".
If public, they would all squirm, but if asked one on one, some would say "no, probably not".
There seemed to be a growing realization that right or wrong, it just costs too much money to house non violent offenders.

Stories like this aren't going to help drug legalization.
In fact, to the gen pop, eating pets is probably worse than cannibalism.

If it doesn't have any of the properties found in mj nor is it in fact mj, then don't f*cking call it mj. This pathetic attempt to steer public opinion and link two totally different things together is bs.......... Ironically you are giving LSD a bad rap with your comment. LSD is not what many people think it is. After the homeless man face-eating attack in Miami, people were ignorantly saying he was on LSD - he was not. The police eventually came forward and claimed he was on bath salts (which are not actually bath salts that you put into a bath but a powerful new synthetic drug that actually makes you do crazy things). The other very dangerous drug out there in the wild is PCP (in terms of making you tear your clothes off and start acting like a non-human being).

But LSD is often pointed at as being the cause of so many violent attacks and it's simply not true. Bath salts, PCP, crack, meth are much worse than LSD, yet LSD is the drug people claim makes them do things like eat a homeless man's face or the family dog.

EDIT: I just re-read your post and realized I missed the part about "in possession of a psychotic brain". Having said that, I still find it interesting that people like to knock LSD ahead of the much worse (and very common) drugs that I listed.

At least he wasn't naked while doing this. I do find it ironic that he asked police to taze him and they didn't. Maybe that's what everyone does wrong - the whole "don't taze me bro" should be just "taze me bro" and they won't. Anything to inflict pain to the individual - even if that means no intervention at all....to protect and serve

I think you're onto something here. I saw a video on YouTube where a cop pulls a guy over, and the guy gets out and immediately starts dancing and telling the cop to shoot him. The cop does not, and eventually the guy kills the cop. Maybe it is some sort of reverse psychology - this guy must be nuts if he wants us to shoot him, so it would not be a good shoot. If, on the other hand, he was trying to defend himself from us, fire away...
