I was doing some research on Navy Damage Control Equipment (fire hose, dewatering hose, etc) that are kept on ships.
On one list, duct tape was listed on the required list of equipment and supplies.
I guess if the ship is going down, using duct tape is one way to keep it from sinking!

I was at Canadian Tire today looking for an odd sized o-ring (normally I wouldn't be caught dead there) and happened to see they've got a 'ultimate handyman kit' for sale ... a roll of duct tape and a can of WD-40 shrink wrapped together. Clever, I thought. Not clever enough for me to buy it ... but clever.
