    Doing some research, hard to find anything about these though. Maybe it's actually two different companies, I am not sure yet.........

    Look up chipgold Tinbox.

    A while back there was a trend overseas to market 1, 2, 2.5, 5 etc gram gold bars encapsulated in a credit card
    sized tamper proof plastic holder. There were a few different companies doing it the Istanbul refinery was one of them.

    Not sure how well it caught on, I don't think they are making them anymore but I could be wrong.

    Some are .995 so watch it but otherwise they are a safe buy.

    "Since 1996"

    That must be a long time for Turkey.

    Probably just different years. Apmex even states "unique bars..."

    Pretty sure I have one of those in the card. I'll take a look and snap a pic.

    The ones which are made to be shipped to America have a different name than the ones which are targeted for their local clients.

    IGR = english
    IAR = isn't english

    Crypse is right:

    IGR = English: Istanbul Gold Refinery
    IAR = Turkish: Istanbul Altın Rafinerisi
