It seems to me that the breaking point is getting closer...The common man is getting restless. TPTB are getting nervous, and it shows.

My my my, look at what the mexicans brought with them. A good old fashioned Cuidad police state.

I can understand where the phrase "Kill 'em all and let god sort them out" came from. This country needs a reset button something fierce.

Yeah, I'm sorry I should have been more explicit.... just seeing such a cluster phuck in that scene coupled with the many other clusters phucks around the country and the world, it really seems as if a re-set is the only way to come out of this. It just doesn't seem as if we, meaning "everyone", are working toward benevolent resolutions to this global unraveling of wanton horrors.
My statement's meaning was to imply that at this moment a large scale reset seems the only way to really straighten out such a large scale mess. I would never really advocate such a horrible thing as killing, but I do understand the sentiments of one who see's little hope in human nature or "the system" and just want's to "start all over".

I'd have a lot more sympathy for the "protestors" if the didn't loot and vandalize while gathered en masse.

The necessity of oil is the mother of intervention.
I don't live there, I cannot know the facts as seen by the cops or by the protesters, but I do know that cops dressed up like infantry soldiers on the tops of buildings because some uniforms killed two people in as many days is a recipe for disaster. It was reported that one of the dead was shot in the back of the head as he ran from the police, and he was unarmed. I could not even find out what the cops were chasing them for. SWAT on the roofs is a nightmare.
We need to get the cops out of military gear, back in white shirt and tie, and calling citizens "Sir" or "Madam".
They are our servants, not our overlords. Time to rein them in.

Those guys in full battle dress (down to the woolen scarfs) looked straight out of central casting. My hunch is they are x-mil special ops, now working for private contractor and leased out to Homeland Security. Believe it or not but corporations just like Disney hire these thugs from time to time.
If this is how things are now in America, is there anything that can be done to check it?
I confess it's all very upsetting to me...
"I'm gonna' get my kicks before the whole sh#thouse goes up in flames."

IndeedIt's upsetting on many levels unfortunately:
1) Cops shot an unarmed man who was fleeing in the back of the head (supposedly in the back of the head though I would assume the family has seen the body so they aren't lying).
2) Cops open fire on families protesting and canine was needlessly released as well (some say it looks like the dog simply got away from the officer). Supposedly a rock and/or water bottle was thrown first (and that may or may not be true), but the reaction from the Police was anything but appropriate.
3) Further protest result in needless vandalism. I simply hate the fact that whenever there's any type of protest for some reason certain people feel the need to destroy stuff. I hate seeing cops bully people for protesting/yelling at them, but honestly I would have no problem with a cop being a little rough with someone he just watched smash a window with a golf club.
4) Folks here are perfectly okay with assuming *every* person there deserves what they get and welcome a race war.
5)... ugh, that's enough already
*FWIW it should be noted that there was a vigil in the neighborhood of the kid who got shot in the first place (two people have been killed by the cops at this point) and there was little to no police presence there. A decent sized group gathered and there was NO violence or destruction.
