    Default Couponing?

Dont know bout the rest of you all but Ive been using coupons up the but this past year, buying things with long shelf life, like canned goods, meats, soaps, shavers and creams, tooth pastes , tp and paper towels, hot sauce pickes the list goes on. This week im stockpiling bic disposalable razors, just got 8 12 pks today for like .80 cents each, also walgree has liptons ice tea for,99 with a 99 register reward on future purchase,I pass 3/4 wallgrees, cvs and publix on the way home so i load up when the deals fall, I spent 88 at publix last week and the amount owed wqs 22 bucks, went with my daugter she spent over 90 bucks and her bill after the coupons was 12 buks, my eyes popped out, I just started this year but her husband has a marketing degree and started this coupon site where they buy tons of papers, have them sorted and sell the packets of coupons to buyers, currently hes buying 10000 papers, I never knen I could save so much, I can give their web adress if the powerw to be would allow it but its a major cost save on groceries and things for the old stash.

I use coupons myself, just not to extremes, I've seen people with about $200 in groceries pay 20 bucks and I'm amazed. I got to save someplace to buy silver...

Wife uses them often. We now have 2 supermarkets in town. Both are well established in this area with the newb having a store 8 miles in either direction north or south. How the heck we can support two in our town will be seen. Both are trying to under cut each other and with the coupons, she gets some good deals.

It does take some work, but hey, more money in our pocket than in theirs.

On a personal note, I won't go shopping with her. Sit in the van in 100 degree heat just to not walk down every single stinking isle.

Can't wait until she comes out of the store with more money than she went in with.

I rarely use them, because the amount I can save on the name brand is less than what I save buying the store brand.

I'm all for couponing, as long as I'm not behind some SOB that has a bunch of them, in the checkout lane!

I will admit it..I have a coupon organizer full of coupons I carry with me everytime I go to the grocery..and I cut them out for restaurants also..between coupons and my little store shoppers savings card, I save about $30.00- $40.00 a week on things...

We use them and usually end up getting about a months worth of free food per year. Save the weekly store ads for about 3mo. Then go back and look for patterns (ie. same things go on sale maybe every 3-5wks. and adjust your home menus as needed.

I don't do couponing per se, but I do peruse the new sale prices at Kroger every Thursday morning to see what is marked down for the week courtesy of the Kroger cards. I make full use of the discounts offered with the Kroger cards, but I have never and will never fill out the "member" information forms that go with the cards. They have no clue what my name is or where I live, and they never will. I get the full benefits of using the cards without any of the problems associated with potential invasions of my privacy. They only know me as that crazy guy who really likes canned tomatoes!

On other discounts or sale prices in general, I have approximate price points I watch for on different products (50 cents on a 14-ounce can of tomatoes/tomato products, $3.88 or cheaper on Cafe Bustelo, less than $1.00 per pound on some varieties of dry beans, 60 cents per 15-ounce can of canned beans--not green beans, but pintos, red beans, black beans, etc.), and when I see those sale prices, I snap up the products.

I just bought a bunch of Anderson windows from Home Cheapo. Anderson was running a 10% off sale for the first time that anyone can remember so I got around $300 off. On top of that I used a 10% Coupon from bLowes that Home Cheapo accepts, that I bought off of Fleabay for $.80, to save another $277 on the window order. I like to use coupons for big purchases.

Picking up 16oz lipton ice teas this week at wallgreen, while they cost you .99 cents you get what they call a register reward for .99 valid on next purchase, only caveat is you can only buy one bottle but I pass 3 wallgreens on the way home from work and stop at all 3, end result is a free case by the end of the week and 24 bucks to spend on things I would buy anyway.

Good thread South, my step daughter is a regular packrat and her coupon clipping/photocopying shows, she has literally ran out of room in her apartment for storage. Smart kid.

Wife watches the store ads for items on special. Yes, and that garden produce really cuts down on the need to buy food. Can or freeze the extra stuff for later, much cheaper than couponing... just saying.

My wife does fairly good with coupons. The main thing she has to watch out for is getting things we don't use. We have also gotten good at reading the labels/price stickers. You have to really watch the price per unit as they are sometimes deceiving.

I used to think this very same thing....until I found out you can get FREE stuff with coupons. You can't get the no-name brand for free!

I would use them, but coupons for hookers and blow are so difficult to find in the local paper.

It's a supply and demand thing, they generally don't produce coupons for products that are in high demand/short supply.

We use publix in florida, you build your stash of coupons and wait untill the items go buy one get one free, they let you use 2 coupons, example a1 steak sauce is normally 4 bucks, bogo makes it 2 each and then you use 2 coupons for a buck off and get it for a buck a bottle, also down here target is a competitor so they also accept the target online coupons.
