Imagine instead of bars, we had statuettes with weight and finesse printed upon them. That would certainly make bullion more interesting.
That is a different kind of silver artwork that I can appreciate.![]()
ATTENTION!!!!!! Read this very carefully: My gut feeling on silver is just that.......A gut feeling. I have absolutely nothing to back up my gut feeling with.
My gut says........Silver will NOT hit and hold $50 before 2015.

The eagles alright, But I hate snakes even silver ones.
WhyKnow (08-08-2012)
I would pay 2x spot for that stuff without hesitation. I've priced high-end silver before and most of the cool stuff retails for ten times spot or much more. When I was in Milan this past summer I walked into a store that specialized in fancy sterling items and the prices on everything were astronomical. I could have spent all day in that store staring at the treasure, but the wife was nagging me to keep moving.

I became really interested in item's like this about 7-8 years ago, when I saw a solid sterling silver tiger that was being sold..it had a weight of something like 15 or 20 pounds of pure silver.. it was like 2-3 ft long and 2 ft high..I have been trying to find the picture of it on the the internet..but so far no luck..I'm going to keep searching to see if I can find one of it...never know..this might be my next area of collecting..will need to buy a bigger boat though!![]()

I never thought that "gold art" could look so sexy and attractive. Even if it was available for sale, I could not afford it since I am a poor man. That means that I will just have to settle with looking at/fondling some of my cheap 1-oz silver art porn bars that I bought at past coin shows.

Who says you can’t take it with you? Art Funeral Italy whipped up a one-of-a-kind casket made of 24-karat gold and displayed it at the 2010 Verona Luxury and Yacht Show. If the casket itself isn’t odd enough, it also comes with a gold-plated touch screen cell phone that’s meant to accompany the dearly departed. Total price $400,000

Make your every meal luxury! A Japanese jeweler is selling a 13-piece tableware set made entirely of pure gold for $1 million.
The set by Ginza Tanaka includes goblets, plates, chopsticks and cutlery, each engraved with a dragon, which symbolizes eternal youth and health. The items are available as single purchases, with spoons priced at 650,000 yen each and soup bowls going for 32 million yen.
LOVE THIS PART !
(The company said the tableware was aimed to appeal to Chinese customers. China’s increasing ranks of newly rich are buoying the luxury market despite the global economic slowdown.)
It is also an ancient Chinese tradition that those who eat from gold tableware will have eternal youth and life.
“Recently, there have been a lot of Chinese customers. When they visit our store, we try to appeal to them by showing we can also design Chinese-style tableware,” said Naoto Mizuki, general manager of the store’s marketing department.
Ginza Tanaka has offered in the past a range of goods made from gold, ranging from a gold bathtub to a gold bathing suit.

"Chicago's real gold coast shines out of a small display in an Elmhurst museum dedicated to the art of cutting and polishing stone. The diamond-studded, 18-karat-gold Castle Lizzadro at the Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art (220 Cottage Hill) is a fantasy castle in the sense that it's only otherwise seen in novels that feature dragons and that if the castle were sold it would bring in a fantastic amount of money.
The 18-inch-wide, 14-inch-tall castle perched on an "ocean" of agate was commissioned in memory of the 15-year-old grandson of museum founder Joseph Lizzadro after he drowned in 1983. Goldsmith William Tolliday of Garrard & Co. (England's crown jeweler up until 2007) sculpted the piece, and it's the largest he would make, according to Dorothy Asher, director of the Lizzadro Museum. Tolliday combined yellow, white, and red gold for color and depth; the roofs are silver, and the windows are multifaceted, rectangular diamonds. The sculpture goes into intricate detail—visitors are sometimes asked how many tiny cannons they can find. "There's a lot of hidden crevices. There's a little cove, there's a little hoist," Asher said. "Adults and kids love it."
So what would this platonic ideal of an MTV's Cribs episode fetch at auction? "Now that the artist is deceased, you wouldn't know," said Asher, though it won't show up on the block any time soon—it means too much to the museum. "Not in my lifetime, at least," she said."
