I got (1) 40%er out of one roll tonight. I live out in the boonies so I can't make it to the bank often (i also work from home). When I do go, I normally buy what they have. Today wasn't a high yeild because I just went last week.

I saw an old dude drop off over $1k in quarters at a non-local bank today while I was out prospecting. I wish I could have gotten them but was not able to.

Yesterdays haul. 4.5 boxes of halves gave up (3) 40%ers. 4 boxes of dimes gave up 4 Roos. And got skunked on another 2 quarter boxes- think I should learn my lesson there. More dimes and quarters too today and 1.5 boxes of halves. HH all, Mark

Greetings all! I recently just got into coin roll hunting after stumbling upon this forum after looking for some information on the best ways to invest in silver. My first CRH experience was pretty good. I bought about 17 dollars in halfs from my bank and about 10 dollars from my gf's credit union. I found:

1 1964 kennedy half
16 proof halfs almost in perfect condition every year from 1979 - 1994
1 proof 1998 kennedy half in pretty rough condition

Id say that's not bad for a first time. Let me know what you guys think.

Havin a good time with dimes this weekend, got another 10 slivers last night and 6 more tonight, so far this month I've got (5) Mercs and (35) Roos. 6 boxes of halves coming tomarrow, hope they are good.

Not a fortune but feels like the mother lode lately. Had two boxes out of 6 showing silver tonight, Grand total was 1 Ben, 1 '64, and 15) 40%ers. I knew my Bday coming up would change my luck, hope it just gets better and better haha. HH Mark

It's been a while since I posted results, not great lately but I'm still plugging away at it.

2 $500 boxes CWI rolled halves yielded:

1 '64 & 1 '68 from the first box, second box was a skunk.
The second best part of this was when I took the first bag back to the bank. It *should've* been $499, it was $504. not bad!
Over the summer, I was getting the weirdest coins out of these rolls. Some of what I found were: an unidentifiable coin(maybe from Nepal), a Mexican Diez Peso, and an 1863 British penny.

OK so my Bday luck came a day late but I'll definately take it. Scrounged up 10 boxes of dimes today- hit every branch hoping to find more of them Mercs and silver Roos. Every box had at least one and I had found 6 Mercs before I got to the last box that was phenominal. Last box started off with a silver Roo showing, first roll I slit open had 4 Mercs and 1 Roo. 14 rolls out of the 50 had silver and I came up with 16 Mercs and 16 Roos from one box- total take from the day, 22 Mercs and 25 Roos from 10 boxes. I'm stoked but I know there was more out there, some teenieboppers will be handing out Mercs in change at Dell Taco next week.
I almost passed and went gold mining today but I wanted them dimes, glad I stayed home haha. HH all, Mark

It's been a little while since I've posted, but I've still been plugging and scrounging away. Sorry so late, but since I didn't post my past 2 months' findings, here they are:

August:
Boxes: 21+
90%: 13 (1 Ben, 12 Kens)

90%: 16 (3 Bens, 13 Kens)

Although nothing really amazing, I have seemed to find a little richer concentration of silver these past couple of months, so I really cannot complain. I've just been trying to take advantage of it as much as I can for as long as I can. September was my 1st full month without any interruptions (business trips, vacations, etc.), so my numbers are up from my previous months'... hopefully they will continue to go up as I improve my process and go through more boxes per month. It sure felt great pulling over 100+ silver coins last month! I know that ME Co. (and maybe some of you) have had a great week (or awesome day) pulling more than I did this past month, but like I said, I cannot complain as my yield has been pretty solid.

Still waiting to find my 1st Walker!!!

Well, it took me a little while to finally hit a decent silver vein... although in September I seemed to have found 3 different ones, 1 was short-lived, while the other 2 have been somewhat consistent. About half of the boxes I usually get have no way of telling where they they are sourced from, the other half of boxes I receive have stamps and/or markings which give me some way of tracking different locations/dates of the where the boxes have come from. I've been keeping track of all boxes that have any identifying information, and I've had some decent consistency from one location. Some of my same source banks have provided me with boxes from different locations... and I'm pretty sure that this location number will eventually change or the silver will dry up from this source, so I'm hoping that I can milk it as much as I can while the going is good.

I normally don't consider dimes a $$$ maker and only pick them up when I can't get halves, usual average is only 1/box but its fun for ME. To answer your ? I was at the first bank to dump $3K at 10AM, takes 30-40 mins., made my rounds and was home by 12:15PM. Did boxes off and on all afternoon and finished off the last one at 9. So yea there is some time involved and gas but usually my dimes don't pay for that- this week they did. HH Mark

Its all luck of the draw, the more you search the better your odds.
I got a 1963 Canadian half tonight, pretty cool, and (3) 40% out of 4 boxes. Also got 1 Roo out of two dime boxes. HH Mark

Superjoe, part of the problem (especially with halves) is that many/most banks do not have consistent supplies of them on hand at any given time, unlike most of the regular circulating coins. So even if you are lucky enough to get 9 or 10 rolls, it may take you 5 - 10 minutes to look through them, and then you would likely be hard pressed to find another bank to get another 10 new rolls to look through. Also, depending on the competition that you may have in your area, you may be receiving someone's dump coins... this could likely be the case if your bank always seem to have half dollar rolls on hand, and you never find anything in them. In some areas, CWR (customer wrapped rolls) seem to turn up a lot more (and sometimes have some great yield) than where I'm searching. So if I want to do any searching through halves, I need to order boxes or else I don't get any coin at all, or I would waste a lot of time & gas just trying to find coin. If you can manage to get a bank to order a box for you, at least you will have a decent number of rolls to search through and it makes for more efficient use of your time both in acquiring and dumping. You also know that you will not be searching through someone else's direct dumps.

ME Co, good pull on your 5 Bennies & 3 Kennies (90%) + 40%ers the other night. I usually only find a couple of Bens per month and I still haven't found any this month yet...
Also, although it's quite late, congrats on your other Seated Lib you found most recently. You are still THE MAN.


Went thru 2 boxes last night & found (2) 64s & (7) 40%ers. The night before last, I pulled (3) 64s, (16) 40%, & 2 proofs from 3 boxes.

I find fault in your theory. If it were true, being born in 63 I should be hauling it in like a silver lode however I'm pretty much claiming the title of King Skunk in my area. I finally found my 1st Walker!!!

After having done more than 130 boxes, I've finally found what seemed to be almost impossible! It's only a 1945-P, probably only VG/F, but it's still a great find for me. Last night's 2 boxes gave up (3) 90% & (5) 40%. Not bad at all, but with 1 of the 90% being the Walker, it was a great night.

Dimes are picking up as late- not as good as last weekend yet but I got 7 Roos which is average X 2, hopin for more tomarrow. My last 4 boxes have been pretty dismal too... only managed to pull (2) 40%ers, and these were my typically "good boxes." Hoping the tide hasn't turned yet for these boxes... I think that there should still be some decent silver to be pulled from this source.

I'm still working on my first 100oz, but I've only been actively prospecting since mid-June of this year and have been slowly and steadily been trying to move my numbers up. I'm hoping to cross the 100 oz mark by the end of the year, but we'll see. My past 10 boxes have been slower paced, but I know that there's still a lot more to find! As it stands right now, I'm lining up to get 6 more boxes before this month's end, but I don't think I'll be able to match last month's silver numbers even though my total boxes searched will be higher.

That sucks, hope you got more than one dump bank. I could give you some tips but I have been accused of being greedy on another board. Actually my competition dumping was small potatoes so I never bothered with them much. Now on the buying end I have to admit- I Ben Bad LOL.

I pulled a little today, did 4 dime boxes for 4 slivers- all Roos and all 4 came from the first box. Did 4 of todays 6 Half boxes and got a Walker and (4) 40%ers.
