Default Should I sell here on the forum?

Well, I need to sell some gold, but I have basically no posts at the GIM2 forum as you can see.
I want to try to sell here on the buy-sell forum, what would you guys suggest to make a potential buyer feel secure in the deal?

Some things I can think of are:
    --pictures of the actual coin(s)
--noting that I have 100% positive ebay feedback of 293 with a lot of coin deals there and I've been a member there for 11 years.
    --offer fast, free shipping
--accept paypal, even though I hate the fees

Other thoughts?? Any other places to sell without the ebay fees?
    Thanks!

Go to buy and sell thread. Probably will have to be face to face if you have no reputation. Maybe someone on here lives close enough to you to make it happen.

    That brings up a thought,
Does anyone know what escrow services are out there, and what do they cost?

Everyone is thinking of selling now. We are in a bearish time.
I'm looking for the best way to sell Gold, too.

I forget the minimum posts but you can do it relatively easy. Just start cruising the boards and posting but be helpful with your suggestions.

    I'm in NE Georgia.
Yeah, maybe I'll just get active with some posts (like this one!) and become more of a regular member. I can probably wait a week or two before I sell.
I really like the idea of selling with no fees involved. Does anyone know of another forum to try in addition to this one for the sale of coins?

I dont want to push you away, thats not my intention. I REALLY want to see more & more people join the forum and offer up their ideas and thought processes on various subjects, situations & scenarios. I sure dont want to suggest another forum, I'd rather see you stay here, develop a good relationship with the other members and be a contributer here. Having said all of that...I'll be dead honest with you - joining a forum and immediately trying to sell something is going to be a very tough sell. You might very well be legit, have nothing but honorable intentions and be a really great guy. But without some previous interaction with you, I personally would shy away and would need more reassurances.

I think the steps youve listed above are a good start, especially if you can identify your eBay user name (in a PM & NOT on the board) to a pontential buyer. The buyer can then check out one of your listings on eBay and use the "ask seller a question" feature to verify that it's really you. Having a 100% feedback rating there with the number of transactions youve completed should help ease some minds. You may be able to persaude someone to take you up on an offer.

Hopefully you dont mind the brutal honesty and you'll stick around the forum. We can always use new blood, new perspectives.

Don't sell unless you absolutely HAVE too to survive.

Moving gold and silver is alot easier than people think...It's a lack of courage that keeps people from getting the job done. I've unloaded at a number of locations that most people would not have thought of. Nothing against E-bay...I'm aware alot of Cats use this method, but I view E-bay as an inferior place to trade in and out of the physical precious. The best transactions are the ones done in person...where you meet face to face and build contacts for the future....since you never know when you may be unloading again. If you don't have a list of contacts that you've built and dealt with in the past...now would be a good time to consider getting that "leg work" done...especially if you have to move some product anyway.

    FYI for the GIM community:

Jimineez and I just completed a pretty good size coin swap. He was completely honest and transparent and my coins arrived in perfect shape and as described, I would not hesitate to do business with him in the future.

    Escrow.com
Too expensive for small transactions. Otherwise a bit cheaper than Paypal and no chargeback fears

Just sell small stuff(under 50) and send it first. Of course that puts the risk all on you, but it will build a reputation.

Right, in every transaction someone has to send their stuff first. It's usually the buyer who sends the money first, but there's no reason it can't be the other way around. Especially if the buyer has the stronger history.

Sure I agree with that. I wish this forum had a feedback system of some kind so members could see at a glance that you have done a lot of good deals on the board rather than have to give out references

I have found that Craigslist is a great way to make buys. So are local coin shop (but, you have to build a reputation first - otherwise they will try to jam you). As others have said - it is wisdom to build a network of people you can sell to - when the time comes...
