My "Thanks" Ration. Please Sir May I Have Somemore?

I don't know how many I am allowed in a period of time but I keep running out....there are worse things I guess than saying "Thanks".

Why do I run out so fast? There are some brilliant posts/posters that sometimes I do not feel articulate enough to respond to or there is information put up that seems interesting and I will peruse it in detail later and appreicate the tip. I also like to acknowledge a kind word typed my way with a "Thanks" versus haveing that Stormtrooper Helmet of mine all over the board. (aren't ST's cool?).

So knowing I won't spend them foolishly or gamble it away...may I please have somemore? Danke!

Really? Humph. The icon will just be gone.....and then re-appear. Like now, it's back. Am I doing something really fundamentally stupid? 'Cause that's gonna make me feel really fundamentally stupid.

We've turned the 'fundamentally stupid' function on for some members.....

I've seen nothing in the controls that limits 'thanks'. Nor would i expect that is something we would want to control (I would never see a reason to limit one's ability to thank another). That said there have been strange occurences on occasion. Have you tried logging out of GIM2 and logging back in to see if it restores the THANKS button. Maybe a cache issue, just guessing.

My thanks button disappears and reappears throughout the day. I have learned not to count on it being there.

Ok. Thanks to Irons and AgAuGal we have established I am not crazy or fundamentally stupid and there IS a phantom "Thanks" button, but no Limit. Thats excellent because I was about to start checking my office for gas leaks.

Thanks for understanding that, as there are a few that see my position as stupid. I don't know if I am right or wrong on it, just trying to steer away from minefields is all.

As for the button, depends on the skin you are in. People in default or black are having no issues while some that are in purple or green are having issues. That is in the 3rd party software creators domain. There is nothing I can do for the mysterious disappearing thanks button other than to hunt for new skins.

I use simple purple and my Thanks button is always avail.

Green and it comes and goes, but most of the time anymore, it is there.

it seems as time goes on, that it isn't in our setup at all, that it is in the users computer setup, somewhere somehow,

I don't know it, but as more people relay intel on the when and how, none of it meshes with settings on my end,

fwiw, I am in simple black and it is always there, I have never not seen it when on site

There could be a problem with having made only a few posts. Try posting a few more times to get over a post count of ten and see if your Thanks button appears. That may not work, but at least it will help you to get the GIM posting addiction we all suffer with.
