Default A year's worth (more or less) of shampoo and conditioner

Actually, I already had the shampoo on hand, eight large bottles of TreSemme shampoo that a buddy of mine who works at a wholesaler gave to me--the bottles were damaged and were otherwise going to be thrown out, so he gave them to me. And then a little earlier tonight at Kroger, I remembered that I was out of conditioner, so I went to the aisle and was pleasantly surprised to see that the conditioner I usually use (and the shampoo, too, when I'm out)--V05--was on sale (well, with my Kroger card) for 77 cents a bottle. So I got the last 36 bottles of VO5 conditioner on the shelves. The cashier didn't bat an eye. I know from previous conversations that she sees all kinds of weird things at night, and I'm more than happy to reinforce that sense of weirdness.

As far as shampoo is concerned, it's a running joke between me and one of the late-night cashiers at the CVS near my house that whenever I run out of shampoo, I have to use real poo!

Personal hygeine products of all kinds, including shampoo, should be great for barter.

FWIW, have you heard of the "no poo" approach (Google it) to hair care? Works great, and is definitely cheaper and easier to prep for!

Is the no-poo approach when I'm so constipated and so, um, backed up that my hair turns brown?

    8 large bottles?

We have 60 bottles of Garnier Fructise shampoo, all for free.

Wife got carried away with the coupon deals.

I think the bottles are at least 32 ozs., maybe bigger. I'm not at home right now but I'll check it out later.

I can see you wanting shampoo, but I have never understood the conditioner obsession. I wash my hair to get the dirt and oils out; why would I want to condition and add in a different set of oils and additives?

QWAK,Depending on the ingredients SOME types of conditinor and perhaps shampoo too, do NOT store well LONG term as the ingredients are either not stable or are organic and degrade and seperate. Also need to keep from freezing!

Hair gells and other things used in butician shops often sell in CONCETRATE form in galon jugs and tubs and could be very cheep compared to the products you buy off the shelf. Some products come in 5 gal. containers!

IF you don't get to use it ALL because you don't use it FAST ENOUGH it may NOT be the GREAT deal you thought it was two or three years AFTER you bought the stuff.

    Just somthing to concider.

Bartering it is one thing, but in a crisis situation do you want strangers to notice how clean you appear in comparison to everybody else? It isn't a gray man strategy.

I have longish hair, and conditioner is a must to keep it from becoming unmanageable. Scars from several brain surgeries (diagnosed as a baby with hydrocephalus) are one reason I keep my hair long.

I put in a water softener which makes my hair silky, before the we had the softener, my hair was like wire and i even used conditioner. My wife still uses conditioner, i know she brings in bags of dish, laundry soap every wk, it's time to remind her about the conditioner.
