Looks to me like it will hold, in the process of forming a pennant or triangle, which should then propel it much higher before another correction.

Nice 19 cents bounce today. Warrants had a big move too on big volume. Very bullish IMHO.

Great way to end the week.

BNN ran a report on insider trading today in which Sheldons activities in PNP were highlighted. The guy certainly puts his money where his mouth is and investors respect that.

Canadian markets still closed, they re-open tomorrow.

And they should blast higher. PNP $4.00 is not out of the question, considering metals and commodities have soared the last few days.

    Hi Strawboss,

I have been looking at the Pinetree from the perspective of the 1-year chart. It looks to me as though from April to the end of Sept. is a "saucer" formation, ending in a platform in October and a breakout on increased volume to the upside. If this correct, doesn't this indicate that more upside in the near future is likely? I would appreciate any comments you might have.

    Regards,

    Brewster

Since I last updated the insider buy spreadsheet the CEO of the company has bought 556k more shares. This brings his total shares purchased since mid-September to 7.06 million, at a cost over 15M$.

Not too shabby - a double in approx. 3 months - I started this thread when Pinetree was at 1.72 back in Sept. It isnt too late to get in if you havent yet - although I would probably wait for a dip in price before entering. I think it is very reasonable to assume that this stock may still do many multiples of its current price before this bull market is over.

I don't know. I have been trying to add to my holdings, and the dips have been few and far between. Glad I got in at 1.80.

If pinetree follows the same path, that means we will correct back down to $2 - $4 was major resistance for REE to get up and through.

I'm saying that once the $4.00 resistance was surpassed, then it accelerated.

I have seen this in other stocks too. $4.00 seems to be an important psychological level. Maybe that's the point where investors or traders seems to think the stock is no longer "a risky penny stock."

$5.00 is even more significant, because many institutions cannot buy stocks priced below $5.00.

Also note that PNP had a very nice run in late 2006 to mid 2207 from just above $4 to $12, in less than 6 months. I'll take a repeat of that move in 2011.

Hello all -- I've been a long time lurker and decided to sign up when I saw the Pinetree discussion. A friend of mine tipped me off to PNP about a year and a half ago. I got in at around $1.30. Best move I ever made.

For those interested in such things, according to CanadianInsider.com Pinetree's Sheldon Inwentash has been buying Gold Canyon Resources shares (for his own account) since Dec. 20, at prices between $2.25 and $2.34. He's bought a little over 400,000 shares. I know nothing of this company, but I'm motivated now to take a hard look at it.

    Welcome to GIM2, Mule.

PineTree sure does look like a long-term big winner. Good timing when you got in.

I am familiar with Gold Canyon, i coulda woulda shoulda bought it about 2 years ago at 12 cents. The second biggest missed trade of my life. (Biggest miss was Quest Uranium).

They have a great gold property called Springpole that sure looks to be a future mine.

What attracted me to GCU in the first place was their Cordero gallium project, but that seems to have been put on the back burner. Cordero is arguably the largest undeveloped primary gallium deposit in the world.

IU've been waiting for a pullback in GCU, but it hasn't cooperated.

Thanks for the welcome, phideaux! I'd have used the "thank you for the useful post" function, but I can't seem to figure out how to do it!

Yeah, the Thanks function is very buggy. When it is working, on the gray bar where you see Reply and Reply with Quotes, at the far left end of that bar you'll see Thanks.

I have seen this in other stocks too. $4.00 seems to be an important psychological level. Maybe that's the point where investors or traders seems to think the stock is no longer "a risky penny stock."

$5.00 is even more significant, because many institutions cannot buy stocks priced below $5.00.

4.00 dollars is where institutions begin to get into the stock if they are interested. Pine tree may be one of those as it gives an indirect exposure to over 400 exploration companies and small stock without additional exposure for such larger buyers. This perhaps diversifies risk not in term of the commodity behind in terms of deposits but based around the spread and exposure.

If institutions do not take an interest at this stage then things begin to get dicey for the company and so it retains value at the private equity interest which is the individual share holders.

Possibly a good time to think about entering/re-entering?

I sold a chunk at 4.15 on Friday and bought back in at 3.80 today. If it holds I'll feel some lucky!

Good lord, if there were ever an appropriate poster-child for "BUY THE DIP", it's pinetree. My purchase yesterday was god-awful and I'm about break even now. ****kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk, I could have made several G's if I timed it better. but I"m in the long haul on this bad boy, in the long term it will be insignificant. pinetree is about 7% of my portfolio after my last purchase

It's difficult enough trying to time a regular stock, let alone a unique, massively leveraged micro-cap natural resources derivative "stock."

I'm just "buy and hold" on Pinetree. (Holding the B warrants, from 92 cents.)
