Ballistic Missile Emergency Alert Mistakenly Sent To People In Hawaii

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/ballistic-missile-emergency-alert-mistakenly-183709354.html

HONOLULU, Hawaii ― People in Hawaii received media alerts Saturday morning warning of an approaching missile and instructing people to seek shelter, but authorities quickly declared the messages were sent in error.

“BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII,” a mobile push notification read. “SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.”

Shortly after, the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency and Honolulu Department of Emergency Management informed Twitter followers there was no missile threat to Hawaii.

Honolulu mayor Kirk Caldwell and congresspeople from the state, including Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D) and Sens. Brian Schatz (D) and Mazie Hirono (D), all said the message was a “false alarm.”

A correction was sent to mobile phones around 30 minutes after the initial alert was sent.

“There is no missile threat or danger to the State of Hawaii. False Alarm,” it read.

Authorities are reportedly investigating how the mistake was made. A request for comment from Hawaii EMA was not immediately returned

Yeah OK. In other news... I notice no one has been arrested in DC yet for selling uranium to the Russians

Gov. David Ige and head of Hawaii's Emergency Management agency, Vern Miyagi, told Hawaii News Now that the false alert was the result of human error — and boiled down to someone pushing the wrong button.

Yeah yeah....whatever they say! I don't believe this was a mistake at all! What's to stop this? Blame it on some unnamed person...or shit...just invent someone...these people can easily do that, and accomplish your goal without a downside!

Just a dry run to see how the public would react to a real event.
    Nothing to see here.

You don't 'push a wrong button' on a nuclear alert. Even the gov.

Lets see, All Clear,, Oppps, I hit the incoming scud button by mistake and it only took half hour to notice.

yeah, test those bomb shelters to see if they can withstand a 40 megaton nuclear blast. Those would be my testing areas of choice! :2 thumbs up:
