1. Tuesday on Tap, showing some initial weakness in metals as it takes a breather from yesterday. The dollar had a rally yesterday that fizzled with no follow thru this am that may lend addn'l support. Oil is rebounding back above $30 and trying to hold above that, but it seems as though there are some determined sellers who keep attempting to put it under.

Just wanted to get everyone's opinion on the Winchester 1400. I inquired about a gun lot for sale on a local website and the seller is offering a 1400 for $280. Haven't had a chance to look at the gun yet, but I'm thinking that's a pretty good price for a semi-auto shotgun. I'd like your opinions before I drop the cash on it.

Hi, the 1400 was not a good seller and was discontinued in 1996-97. I think he's high. They made several models the cheapest was the "Ranger". I see them used at around $200 but not selling. Unless you want an auto take a look at the Remington 870 pump. Usually on sale and with rebates at this time of year. Regards, Mike

It's not a bad shotgun, but the price is WAY out of line.

For that price, you could get a nicely outfitted 870. You know, the shotgun by which all other shotguns are judged.

    +1 on the 870

The youth model 20 gauge with mag extension loaded with 6 rounds of #3 buckshot sits in our closet as I type this.

Very effective for around the house...picked it up new for ~$225.
