1. TGIF for sure, as the metals markets absorbed the early attack and came back strong by end of day. Going into the weekend having very nice gains on the week. Even with the Dollar moving to the up yesterday. Metals showing real nice strength the last few weeks now.

It's freaking cold, I'm sick of it. It's like -4 out there. I'm bored as hell.

The windshield washer juice in my car froze and won't spray out.

The furnace and space heaters are all going at the same time.

This is like Minnesota cold and those people are all freaking crazy over there. :stupid:

You can almost hear the bums stiffening in the streets of grand rapids from up here.

Spring and fall here are spectacular but winter blows and we are right in the middle of the worst of it.

Most sane folks just stay drunk but that got to be a bad habit.

Jeans and t-shirt weather here. Amazing for January. Was relaxing on deck and a sea otter lazily floated on by... I swear he waved hello to me, and a cheers to this fine weather we are having out here.

We're not all crazy, but I've been cozied up to the woodstove all day. It'll be nice when we get above zero again. Then we can finish our siding project. :hmpf:

We have great property here that there is no longer a market for, should have sold out back in the late 90's.

You must be one of those crazy Finn's or Swedes. They never get cold and cook themselves in saunas so they look 40 when they are 80. Annoying.

At times like this I don't mind living in the mid-west. We get dysfunctional weather all year. It was in the 60s on Saturday, today 20. Will get down to 8 tonight, but I slept with my windows open on Friday night. It gets cold, and snows, but it never stays too long.

We get the same shiit in the summer too, it can be in the 80s in March. Summer heat can be bad, but it doesn't usually stick around solid, there are usually waves of cooler air to break it up. Temperature swings of 40-50 degrees in a day are pretty standard...

The high today was -15 degrees F. Not too bad, seemed a little chilly when I went out to throw wood in the boiler. 80 degrees and sunny in my basement, and 68 degrees in the rest of the house. Might get up to -5 tomorrow, think I'll go ice fishing for some fresh walleye. Mmmmmmm. Maybe even go for a snowmobile ride. Once your used to it it's not so bad.
Will work on the garage mahall (48x56)once it get to single digits above, got the poles set just before the frost set in and all the materials on site.

There's no ocean in Colorado - but there is a coast guard!

    Humidity is your enemy folks.

    I'm living in a semi-arid clim.

Today there was 15% humidity at 19 F and I walked across the street to where the mail kiosk is in my bluejeans and a flannel shirt. No hat.

If I did that in the midwest at 80% humidity 19 F I would have had to wear several coats, hat, gloves and galoshes.

Snowing a bit now. Not supposed to amount to much but I'll bet some roads will be pretty icy in the morn. Glad I don't have to go any where early.

We don't get really cold but we get a lot of rain (Washington State). My wife and I raise honeybees and it rained all of last winter and keep going until July. About 4 weeks of summer and then rain again  Our bees had to do the back stroke to get to the pollen. We are looking to move as well.

'Bout 3 degrees F. and -15 wind chill in N. IL tonight. It didn't get above single digits today. Sucks, but I can't imagine Winter any other way, we haven't had really cold weather for 2 years.

When we were snowmobilers -5 was the cut off for serious riding.

Losing a finger was one thing but killing patches of skin on your face is serious disfigurement.
