Maybe Kroger added minerals to improve the taste?

A higher TDS content does not make it a worse quality water. It just has more minerals as they probably went with a different bottler. Some spring waters have over 200 TDS.

What may have actually happened is the old bottler used city water and refined it through an RO while the new supplier is using artesian or well water which should have a higher TDS content. Or maybe there is a mexican on the bottling line pissing in one of the tanks?
