The best reflex sight on the planet is the aimpoint pro, and it's derivative the aimpoint comp m4. Nothing else is as good. Eotech has its own problems, other companies don't even come close. Using an aimpoint pro and a Samson magnifier, I'm able to shoot a group this small at 82 feet.

Is there a scope with a built in range finder that if the gun is zeroed in at 100 yards compensates automatically for longer distances, I assume it would have to have a floating reticle if there is.

Why I Choose XS Big Dots for Defense
    The VSO Gun Channel

    Published on Sep 8, 2017
XS Sights produces sight packages for most popular handguns, rifles and shotguns. Their sights are designed around defensive use, and are based off African Big Game Hunting sights. They simplify sight alignment and enhance target information over standard sights. They are also made of Metal with tritium inserts. Today, we are going to experiment with a 3-Dot sight and see just how much they mitigate the issue that concerns me the most.

Early Night Vision: Vietnam Era AN/PVS-2 Starlight Scope
    TFB TV

    Published on Sep 20, 2017
Fortunately night vision has come a very long way in terms of thermal and Infrared optics choices that today's grunts have. However, once upon a time, 6 pound passive starlight PVS 2s were considered state of the art when it came to the capabilities of U.S. troops fighting at night. The scope first entered service at the height of the Vietnam War and despite its cumbersome size and ridiculous weight, it did prove its use among Soldiers and Marines in their patrol bases. It was probably too heavy to carry out on many patrols, but as a rifle equipped with one on a post at night where mobility wasn't an issue, it could be a force multiplier, especially when the Viet Cong wanted to strike or probe the lines at night.

Top 5 Reasons To Consider A Red Dot On Your Pistol
    TFB TV

    Published on Sep 15, 2017
Ever wondered if there was a reason for putting a red dot sight onto a pistol? In this TFBTV episode, Patrick talks about his top 5 reasons for red dots on pistols. The fact is, the timer doesn't lie and every time Patrick has pitted irons against a red dot, the red dot has come out on top. But beyond being faster than irons, what other reasons could he have that make a red dot flat out better than irons?

Huge thanks to Doug and Nina at ATEi and DSG Arms.

    Many THANKS to:

WWSD Optics Showdown: Trijicon 1-4x Accupoint vs Vortex Viper 1-6x PST
    InRangeTV

    Published on Oct 3, 2017
We've tested the red dot/magnifier combination thoroughly and believe that to be an excellent answer for the carbine - the lack of any eye relief requirement and quick aquisition is unparalleled.

However, we stil have not come to a conclusion about the variable optic. So, in this series of 2G-ACM videos, we're pitting the Trijicon 1-4x Accupoint against the Vortex Viper 1-6x PST.

The Trijicon is on Karl's 14.5" carbine and the Vortex is on Ian's 18" rifle.

The goal of this series of match videos is to determine the viability of both of these optics in CQB as well as ranged engagement, with this match biased towards to the CQB side. We'll also be testing similarly at a future AZ2Gun event which will be biased more towards longer range in the field.

***I SAY 24 MICRON THE THOR NOW USES A 17 MICRON PER ATN**** THIS DOES NOT CHANGE THAT THE IMAGE QUALITY FALLS BEHIND THE OTHER MAJOR MANUFACTURES IN MY OPINION.
THESE ARE MY OPINIONS, I HAVE NO AFFILIATIONS WITH ANY THERMAL OR NIGHT VISION MANUFACTURES. I HOLD NO ANTI ATN FEELINGS AND THIS IS NOT AN ATTACK. THIS IS SOLELY TO HELP UNEDUCATED BUYERS MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION ON AN EXPENSIVE PURCHASE.

    WWSD Optics Showdown: CQB w/Variables

    Stage 2: CQB!

How well do these optics work at 1x? While counter intuitive, that's generally more important than the magnification at range.

$90 Amazon Scope vs SCAR-H - Will it survive?
    TAOFLEDERMAUS

    Published on Oct 11, 2017
Instead of mounting this scope on a shotgun, I wanted to test it on a rifle chambered in .308. Nick stepped up and let us mount this on his SCAR-17S. Nick thought this rifle would BREAK the scope after the first shot. We shot over 50 rounds of .308 using this scope. How did it fair?
