I have been researching detoxification for low-level radiation poisoning since the fukushima disaster.

It seems one of the most effective treatments is one of the simplest and most widely available...it also works for heavy metal detox, and the reality is most of us are probably more at risk for heavy metal poisoning than radioactivity. There are a lot of expensive BS products out there. Here we have something CHEAP & proven to be effective.

Anyway, here it is: Fruit pectin. Eat it. Micturate. :piss: Eliminate monster turds. :toilet: Feel better, live longer. :565:

There are expensive capsules you can take of 'modified fruit pectin' which are supposedly more effective, but I suspect the stuff off the grocery store may be just as effective in terms of cost. Still researching this.

Here's a bit from a site selling the modified form:

Most commercially sold pectin comes from citrus peels. The white part of the peel. Since I was a kid, dad always told me to eat the white part. He was right.

For a while now, we have been making fruit/vegetable smoothies in a 3hp blender. If we do citrus (lemon, lime, orange or grapefruit, we cut away the outer colored peel with a knife, leaving most of the white inner peel, and toss the whole thing in the blender. So we already have a fair bit of pectin in our usual diet, along with other phytochemicals in the peel.

I am further wondering if other soluble fibers are equally effective for detoxification - oatmeal, avocado seed (yes, that goes in the blender - slightly bitter, but highest source of soluble fiber of any food).

    Anyway, happy detox.

This suggests using the supermarket variety:

Apple Pectin Reduces Cesium 137 load nearly 40% in 16 days

In one study following the Chernobyl accident, two groups of children, one with very high and another with less high levels of cesium 137 were given supplementary apple pectin. Apple pectin significantly decreased 137Cs loads in these groups (39% and 28%, respectively). This is remarkable! http://www.greenmedinfo.com/article/apple-pectin-significantly-reduces-cesium-137-load-within-16-days-children-exposed-radioisot

Just amazing how long it takes science to catch up to common wisdom of our predecessors.
