This is very funny to me...I have hand sorted well over $500 worth of pennies and have been collecting PM's and coins for only about two years, though I recently went through a penny collection(read accumulation) I had started 18 years ago.

Only today did I realize that on the back of the Penny, in the very center of the coin in between the pillars, sits a miniature version of the large Lincoln statue. I can't believe that I didn't know about that and didn't see it after handling so many pennies! Better late than never I guess~

Anyway, I though it was funny and the little Lincoln looks so cute under a magnifying glass! :bear_tongue:

So how many GIM2'ers knoew about the little Lincoln chillin' on the back of the penny?

Most pennies probably aren't shiny enough, or are too worn to notice that.:cool1:

Sorry, known about it since the `60's.

Cripes. Now you've got me thinking about that kind of stuff and of course I'm drawing a blank. Wasn't it silver certificates that had the names of states woven into the filigree? Help me out here guys, I'm not fishing stuff out of the lake just for trivia...

Now you need to start looking for the designer's initials on the coins, it's like where's Waldo all over again!

I knew about it, but I wasn't for sure if it was on all years or just a certain one or few...

I have known he was there since I was about 6 or 7 years old. I used to collect pennies and put them in my blue Whitman folders.

We or I have several partially filled Blue Whitmans... The daughter and I spent many hours sorting through the Gallon sized Pickel Jars of Change we had and seen how many holes we could fill in all the Folders... She kinda grew out of it... Now if its not on her Ipod, shes not interested in it...
