Anyone want a pardon from the President for any and all crimes committed in the past or any future crimes you may commit?

I'm thinking we need to send him a petition so we can all get pardoned not just Hillary. Then we can all drive as fast as we want with no insurance. I may even make an illegal right turn before coming to a complete stop at 3 am in the morning.

So basically if he does this she can just walk into a bank, shoot all the bank tellers and steal all the money and valuables out of the safe deposit box and walk right past the cops waving her pardon?

    • He held in captivity by the Taliban until 2014 and was freed in prisoner swap for five Taliban leaders

I don't think the power needs to be taken away. I do think the power needs to be defined better and the protocol refined along with a prohibition of last minute out the door pardons. No pardons in the last 90 days of you administration. I also believe that Congress should be able to override a pardon with a super-majority vote in both houses too. That would have prevented such egregiously abused pardons like Clinton pardoning Mark Rich (for money if the leaked emails allude to).

Edward Snowden says he has no regrets - but admits he's worried that he'll face prison or execution if Russia hands him over to Trump without a pardon from Obama
    • Snowden said being returned to Trump's US would be a threat to his life
    • But he says he can justify everything - including NSA whistleblowing
    • Russia may revoke asylum because he spoke out about its repressive laws
    • Trump's new CIA boss previously said he wanted to see Snowden executed
    • Snowden's supporters are demanding that Obama sign a pardon for him
    • But Obama says Snowden needs to stand trial first

Will he or won't he? Obama is set for pardon frenzy as he leaves office - So will it include clemency for Edward Snowden, Bowe Bergdahl and Chelsea Manning?
    • Thousands of names have been submitted for clemency in Obama's last weeks
    • He has granted 148 pardons and 1,176 commutations since taking office in 2009
    • High-profile names included in the requests are Chelsea Manning, Bowe Bergdahl, and Edward Snowden

Obama pardons retired U.S. general convicted of lying to the FBI in probe that revealed US involvement in 'Stuxnet' cyber attack on Iran's nuclear facilities
    • James Cartwright was appointed the second-highest military officer by George W. Bush in 2007 and dubbed Barack Obama's favorite general
    • He pleaded guilty to making false statements during a hearing in October but has now been pardoned by Obama
    • He told investigators he was not the source behind David Sanger's reports
    • The journalist confirmed suspicions that US and Israel used computer virus to disable centrifuges in Iran's nuclear facility in 2009 and 2010
    • Stuxnet was initially delivered through a thumb drive inside the plant

Two pardons of two scumbags. Sweet.

I read up on Manning, this person should not have been in the Army, period.
Second, only incompetent screening would have allowed this person with serious mental problems to be given a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
Third, reading about all the warning sign activities before Manning was deployed to Iraq makes me wonder if anybody is even trying to maintain security; this person had obvious mental health issues.
Fourth, reading about incidents in Iraq make me question Manning's chain of command, any clearance should have been revoked and, at a minimum, charges brought against Manning. Reading the description of just one event, a Infantry soldier under my command would have at least have had Article 15 action taken, and a referral to Mental Health. Any further incidents of that type would mean chaptering out of the Army.
Fifth, Manning was referred to Mental Health while still in States BEFORE Iraq. How does one keep a Top Secret/SCI while mentally impaired? This makes no sense.

I see a failure here by the Army itself - they had a mentally unstable person who was exhibiting giant behavioral red flags that were ignored for whatever reason. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

'Humanitarian move': Chelsea Manning's sentence commuted - ex-CIA officer Kiriakou
    RT

    Published on Jan 17, 2017
President Barack Obama has shortened the prison sentence of former Army private and whistleblower Chelsea Manning, She will be released on May 17, instead of remaining in military custody until 2045 as originally sentenced.

Manning had leaked to WikiLeaks hundreds of thousands of US government documents that came to be known as the Iraq War Logs and the Afghan War Diary. She was convicted by a US Army Court Martial to 35 years' imprisonment prison in August 2013, under the Espionage Act.

Chelsea Manning commutation could set up Assange extradition to US
    RT

    Published on Jan 17, 2017
Now that President Barack Obama has commuted much of whistleblower Chelsea Manning’s prison sentence, will Wikileaks founder Julian Assange follow through on his promise to accept extradition to the US?

On Tuesday, Obama announced that he was granting clemency to Manning, along with 208 other people. The former US Army intelligence analyst will be freed on May 17, rather than in 2045 as originally intended by his conviction under the Espionage Act.

Wikileaks suggest Julian Assange is willing to be extradited to the US following President Obama's decision to clear Chelsea Manning
    • The outgoing US president allowed Manning to go free nearly 30 years early
    • Julian Assange has been living at the Ecuadorian embassy in London since 2012
    • He believes he faces extradition to the US for questioning over WikiLeaks
    • Currently the only public extradition ruling against him comes from Sweden
