It is getting harder to suppress.
There may be a divergence between physical and paper price.

Been a while, real money just can't get any traction with all the funny money & fake paper gold on the loose... manipulation of all financial markets is relentless...sleep well knowing the SEC is parading as the police!

Lots of fuel behind gold's rise...

US debt
Iran/Straits of Hormuz
Trade wars
US political situation (will the Dems win and introduce MMT?)

I would imagine a higher level of volatility may be here to stay...

Another biggie is Powell and the Farkin' Fed basically pledging to cut interest rates and keep them low.

At least white copper is finally catching a bid too. I've got a few ounces of the shiny only because I had forgotten about them. I had everything else swapped out circa GSR 75. Don't know what to make of the gold leading the rally out of the doldrums other than I just suck at this...

The National debt is not something I worry about. Anyone with half a brain should have one foot in and one foot out of the system. When the Titanic does go down you can jump out of it and into a lifeboat while the people who aren't prepared will go down with the ship.

Folks here can't say they haven't been warned!

I think gold is carrying the flag right now because this is really a basic fundamental monetary move. When Joe six pack gets behind this then silver is going to start to fly.

Bitcoin and other cryptos are flying too.

As Milton Friedman put it, "It's a monetary phenomenon."

Think about it, the value of gold isn't going up...the value of the dollar is going down! Gold is gold! Like anything else of value, it's only worth what someone else will be willing to pay you for it!

Bingo, we have a weiner. Err I mean a winner. :D

The headline on CNBC should read "The US dollar plunged today, to 1/1395th of an ounce of gold."

It will bust thru $1400 which is time to take profits and buy again lower.
It was at $1414 last night for a while and over $1400 most of the evening. I noticed this morning that it dropped under $1400 overnight but is now chasing $1400 again this afternoon. I'm not one to speculate and profit take when it comes to metals. I'm pretty much in it for the long haul and don't have the bandwidth to work the market like that

If we close the week above $1400 that will be quite the statement.
I'm not so sure statements make all that much difference. Metal prices are volatile and dynamic. Any thing can affect spot price and many things that used to affect spot prices in a certain manner no longer do.

Bizzarro World!

Agreed. It is also a sound bite world. Nice to hear a friendly sound bite every once in a blue moon.

That's called the Elliott Wave Principle.
They always seem to be waving in the mirror!

Witchcraft, voodooism , Elliott and other black arts cost too much in sacrificial goats for me!
