Liberty, Freedom, Country, Eagles, Buffalo's! That coin has passed through some hands before coming to yours. The first old coin I found metal detecting was a 1912 Liberty nickel. Beautiful coin! So I started looking and researching.
US coins and currency were never supposed to have dead presidents on them, Jefferson would puke if he saw our coins today.

So, I went looking for a coin from the Revolutionary era and bought this 1808 in VF10 condition for 155 fiats.
When it arrives I will have a piece of early America.
Goes to prove that 155 FRNs are worth about 1/2 a cent in real money

Nice coins guys!

I tend to buy Two cent coins, and Three cent nickles that are in rough shape just to have them. I borrowed this picture though, mine are never this nice.

Washington never wanted to be caesar. Neither did Lincoln.

Both loved and understood Liberty and Freedom.

edit: And maintaining a free and independent Constitutional Republic at all costs.

So, I received my 1808 Half Cent today. And I am trippin' out holding a coin as "Strawboss" said that was minted when Thomas Jefferson was our 3rd President. I wanted a coin that was touched by people building a life in an America that fought and won Independence 32 years earlier.

I actually got a 1905 V nickel in my change several months ago. It was badly blackened so it must have slipped notice but it cleaned up nicely in average condition. Lord knows how long it was circulating. Got it in my old change jar.

I found a 1864 2 cent in a creek, and a 1865 3 cent nickel in a nearby lake. Both are super rare to find in the wild.
