Anyone stack these? I am considering to start stacking them for a couple of reasons. Whenever I go to my LCS I buy a roll of 90% quarters or dimes after my particular purchase that day (PM's or Numis). I go a couple times a month. I was figuring instead of using some slush money on 90% why not add to my gold stack for the same price range. Second, IF the shit hits the fan I would rather use these instead of 1 oz gold coins to get the goods I need. The only thing I need to know before I start stacking these is the typical buy back price.

Nothing wrong with fractional gold other than it having huge premiums...usually makes more $ sense to buy gold at optimal premiums usually associated with 1oz units......and use silver for lower unit transactions

yeah, the premiums would add up, I understand that. I am willing to pay the premiums in order to have discreetness.

Gold Pesos used to be a pretty cheap way to buy small bits of gold, then the premiums ramped up to where they weren't such a good deal anymore. I haven't looked at them in the last couple of years so, maybe premiums have dropped? doubt it. But if you dont have any I think they are still worth grabbing a few, then move on. Cause you'll just want something else anyways. Look at gold Francs or Sovereigns (or half Sovereigns) and see what fits your budget. They are all gold :)

years back i picked up a couple of tubes of 1 ducats ...at the time they sold for spot .....they carry .11 ozt of gold and at the time they sold for the same price or less than a .1 gold eagle...so i got 10% more gold for my $ buying those...point is premiums mean less metal...so look for low premium items and it changes all the time

Ran the numbers on the premiums for some common fractional gold and it looks like the British Sovereigns are the way to go (these are all non sale items from popular online sites):

British Gold Sovereign=5% (.2354 oz)
20 Francs Gold=7% (.1867 oz)
2.5 Mexican Gold Peso=16% (.0603 oz)
1/10 oz AGE=12% (.10 oz)
1/4 oz AGE=10% (.25 oz)

When I had money I sometimes played the eBay Bucks lottery. Find the coins with the best price and the ones that are paying out eBay Bucks. Sometimes eBay sends out 6-8% bonus Bucks....

I don't either, but I haven't been using the ones I do get. I would think I would get more if I used them? Who knows....

The 1930 Uruguay 5 Peso coin is also sometimes a good find, .2501 oz and the premiums are usually. not too much. As an extra, it also carries a limited production and number of coins released.

The premiums on fractional gold are a fact of life that guys like me have to live with. An ounce of gold all at once just isn't in the cards for an honest carpenter/aspiring aging male escort.

Decent deal right here though. 7.99 over on 20 Coronas. Works out to around 50 over per oz which isn't bad for fractionals. Handsome coins too.

I wonder what the process was for the Mexican mint workers when they decided to go from 2 pesos to 2 1\2 peso , how many meetings did it take?....
"Hola hombres. The dos peso is mio bueno.
"Needy more pesos!".....
