https://apnews.com/5ac2b359ee2a48ce...they-have-deal-with-Trump-on-young-immigrants

WASHINGTON (AP) — The top House and Senate Democrats said Wednesday they had reached agreement with President Donald Trump to protect thousands of younger immigrants from deportation and fund some border security enhancements — not including Trump’s long-sought border wall.

The deal announced by Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer and House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi following a White House dinner would enshrine protections for the nearly 800,000 immigrants brought illegally to this country as kids who had benefited from former President Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, program. The program provided temporary work permits and protection from deportation.

Trump ended the program earlier this month and had given Congress six months to come up with a legislative fix before the statuses of the so-called “Dreamers” begin to expire.

“We agreed to enshrine the protections of DACA into law quickly, and to work out a package of border security, excluding the wall, that’s acceptable to both sides,” Pelosi and Schumer said in a joint statement.

It was the second time in two weeks that Trump cut out Republicans to reach a deal with Pelosi and Schumer. A person briefed on the meeting, who demanded anonymity to discuss it, said the deal specifies bipartisan legislation called the DREAM Act that provides eventual citizenship for the young immigrants.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but said in its own statement that the president had had “a constructive working dinner” with Schumer, Pelosi and administration officials “to discuss policy and legislative priorities,” including DACA.

“This is a positive step toward the President’s strong commitment to bipartisan solutions for the issues most important to all Americans,” the White House said.

During a White House meeting with moderate House members from both parties earlier Wednesday, Trump had urged lawmakers to come up with a bipartisan solution.

“We don’t want to forget DACA,” Trump told the members at the meeting. “We want to see if we can do something in a bipartisan fashion so that we can solve the DACA problem and other immigration problems.”

The apparent deal is the latest example of Trump’s sudden pivot to bipartisanship after months of railing against Democrats as “obstructionist.” He has urged them to join him in overhauling the nation’s tax code, among other priorities.

Trump, who was deeply disappointed by Republicans’ failure to pass a health care overhaul, infuriated many in his party when he reached a three-month deal with Schumer and Pelosi to raise the debt ceiling, keep the government running and speed relief to states affected by recent hurricanes.

“More and more we’re trying to work things out together,” Trump explained Wednesday, calling the development a “positive thing” for both parties.

“If you look at some of the greatest legislation ever passed, it was done on a bipartisan manner. And so that’s what we’re going to give a shot,” he said.

The “Kumbaya” moment now appears to extend to the thorny issue of immigration, which has been vexing lawmakers for years. Funding for Trump’s promised wall had been thought to be a major point of contention between Republicans and Democrats as they attempted to forge a deal.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said earlier Wednesday that Trump was “committed to the wall. It doesn’t have to be tied to DACA but its important and he will get it done.”

House Speaker Paul Ryan, who also sat down with Pelosi to talk immigration Wednesday, said during an AP Newsmaker interview that deporting the so-called “Dreamers” was “not in our nation’s interest,” and said the president had “made the right call.”

“I wanted him to give us time. I didn’t want this to be rescinded on Day One and create chaos,” Ryan said, arguing the time would allow Congress to “come up with the right kind of consensus and compromise to fix this problem.”

Great 800,000 new democrats. Parents broke the law to come to merica and children rewarded. In what other country would this be possible? And the reasoning is that they have been going to school here and working here? How? By criminals conspiring to keep them here. So all the laws we have in place for hiring illegals is all for nothing. That w-9 you have to fill out to ensure your an american citizen allowed to work? All for nothing.

Trump does a deal with Democrats on Obama's 'Dreamers': The President agrees to protect young immigrants from deportation in return for enhanced border security 'that DOES NOT include the wall'
  • The deal was announced by Democrats Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi
  • Agreement would enshrine protections for 800,000 illegal immigrants
  • Includes the children who benefited from President Obama's DACA program
  • Pelosi said the agreement included a package on borders 'excluding the wall'
  • White House press secretary Sarah Sanders later tweeted that there was no agreement on the wall during the meeting

Amnesty Don.
The waters are murky.
The flip flop on Afghanistan pissed me off.
Renegotiating NAFTA , a few thousand new jobs , and an artificially inflated stock market ain't gonna be enough campaign promises to carry the Don into a second term.
Unless he gets the extra 800,000 votes from DACA democrats and Pelosi and Schumer endorse Don , there will be no 2nd term....

No Deal? Second Trump Official Refutes Democrats’ “Misleading” Statement On DACA, Border Wall

by Joshua Caplan 292 Comments
News of President Trump’s alleged deal with the Democrats on DACA and the border wall sent shockwaves throughout the media Wednesday evening. While it’s being widely reported President Trump and Democrat leaders Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer struck a deal, or agreed to work on a deal, the White House’s legislative affairs director Marc Short says not so fast.

Wall Street Journal reporter Rebecca Ballhaus tweeted after the dinner that Short told her the Democrats’ announcement on a deal with the President is “misleading.”

“WH leg affairs director Marc Short calls Dems’ DACA statement “misleading,” says no deal on DACA or border wall $$ was reached tonight,” tweeted Ballhaus.

I need a special pair of reading glasses so I can discern the Real News from the Fake News.
Maybe I can borrow old Joseph Smiths urim and thummin.
I don't look much at any negative headline being reported for at least 3 days.
In 3 days it has either disappeared or has been clarified.

There have been disappointments, the ongoing war horseshit is a huge disappointment for me, but the vast majority of what is put out in the media is just plain made up bullshit. Like stories that go on and on without a single solid source. Not fucking one!

It would be annoying if it wasn't so flat out ridiculous.

Yes Sir , like the Russia bs. It's peddled to the masses every day so the general population thinks it must be true.
Don't get me wrong , IMHO there have been more positive actions coming out of the White House than negative.
A lot of intangible effects like the positive attitude of patriotism that swept across America and continues today.
Folks are flying the flag again and soldiers are more positive about supporting their Commander in Chief.
Soldiers wanted nothing to do with the last POTUS and had little to no respect for the pussyfied obummer....
And then there is the stir in the business world. The future for new jobs feels very positive. Small businesses have hope again.
It really pisses me off how little support there is for Trump from the Repukelican Party.

Now Trump says he's 'fairly close' to making a deal with Democrats on 'Dreamers' and border security - and the GOP leaders are 'on board' with it
  • Democrats Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi claimed after a dinner at the White House with the president that a DACA deal had been done
  • They said that Trump agreed to enshrine protections for 800,000 illegal immigrants, aka Dreamers, in a border security package 'excluding the wall'
  • White House press secretary Sarah Sanders later said that there was no agreement on the wall during the meeting
  • President Trump said the same thing in a string of tweets on Thursday morning
  • 'No deal was made last night on DACA. Massive border security would have to be agreed to in exchange for consent. Would be subject to vote,' he said
  • Follow up message: 'The WALL, which is already under construction in the form of new renovation of old and existing fences and walls, will continue to be built'
  • Trump again pushed Congress to pass legislation protecting the immigrants - but said he wanted 'BIG border security'
  • As he left the White House, Trump admitted he was 'fairly close' to reaching a deal with Democrats that excluded the wall and GOP leader are 'on board'
  • Pelosi and Schumer released a statement around the same time saying the president's tweets were not inconsistent with what they said

Dude I have no idea what's going on at Brietbart and haven't for quite a while now.
They seem to cut and paste a lot of unsourced fake news from other sites and their comments are over run with paid trolls.
For a website that's supposed to run a tight ship they usually look sloppy as fuck to me.

I'd guess that President Trump is playing both sides to get what he wants ?

The Repubs will be forced into line, and the Dems will end up in a position where backtracking would damage them at the polls.

Its called 'Politics' guys, and its a long game :)

Should I open a twitter account so I can follow Trump to get the real news?....
Don't bother. U just go to the website and read the posts. Replying to anybody's twitter account or news articles is a waste of time. Reading the replies can be scary. Or amusing.

Our Federal Politicians are taking positions, definable positions that we can see, we can recognize

We can vote, we can all vote. it worked once, probably work again

Our own States need to clean up their respective election rolls and be diligent against cheating and that will be a major factor in helping to keep it all legitimate, sure, but we can all vote and we need to vote for our State's Rights, which control our Local Rights and we need to vote for that, etc

It's helping us to get back to the center, if we choose, or we can just antagonize one another for the next foru years :piss

The "dreamers" should be given a choice:

1. Free one-way ticket to the town of their father's nativity

OR

2. For every year that they lived here illegally, they will spend one year on a Joe Arpaio chain-gang working border wall construction.

So, 18 years from now, that 18 year old dreamer will be free to live the American Dream.

FYI, my progenitors had the same dreams, and they all came here legally.

Right "Explodes In Anger" Over Trump's New Immigration Push
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-...wonders-point-who-doesnt-want-trump-impeached

Trump's base woke up to a fairly surprising flip-flop this morning from the White House on DACA and the infamous, beautiful border wall which was discussed repeatedly on the campaign trail throughout 2016. It all started when Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi released the following statement after their White House dinner with the President last night:

"We had a very productive meeting at the White House with the President. The discussion focused on DACA. We agreed to enshrine the protections of DACA into law quickly, and to work out a package of border security, excluding the wall, that's acceptable to both sides."

That statement was followed up by a tweet storm (we covered it here) from the President this morning which seemingly revealed his complete support for DACA and referred to 'The Wall' as a "renovation of old and existing fences and walls" rather than the "physically imposing" yet "aesthetically pleasing" structure that he repeatedly promised his supporters.

The apparent flip flop by the President resulted in an immediate backlash from some of his most vocal supporters with Ann Coulter wondering aloud over twitter, "at this point, who DOESN'T want Trump impeached?"

"Put a fork in Trump, he's dead." https://t.co/xEu5lwhmqO
— Ann Coulter (@AnnCoulter) September 14, 2017

At this point, who DOESN'T want Trump impeached? https://t.co/g1mMhmm8ng
— Ann Coulter (@AnnCoulter) September 14, 2017

Meanwhile, former Congressman and nationally syndicated radio host Joe Walsh blasted Trump for getting "screwed by Chuck and Nancy."

No wall.
DACA enshrined.

Trump didn't make a deal w Chuck and Nancy. Trump got screwed by Chuck and Nancy.

Trump just screwed his base.
— Joe Walsh (@WalshFreedom) September 14, 2017

NONE of this is a surprise. I voted 4 Trump knowing he wasn't a Conservative & knowing he had no core.

I voted 4 the wall & against amnesty
— Joe Walsh (@WalshFreedom) September 14, 2017

And, not surprisingly, Trump's former Chief Strategist Steve Bannon took direct aim at the White House with a series of negative headlines.

So what say you? Clever, "4-D" calculated move by a President just looking for small policy achievements or did Trump just destroy his base and cement his fate as a one-term President?

-------
  • So not only did Tramp flat out lie about the deal, he did it with a straight face. mayhem says, FUDT, you fat slobbering sellout.

I'm not sure Trump has agreed to anything here. These are all 'reports'. Even the Steve King article above says 'If reports are correct'. What does that mean to you?? It doesn't seem like any deal has been struck yet. When it is I'll be the first one to admit it. This is propaganda to demoralize the Trump supporters and undermine the President!

When are we all going to learn that the media has no clue about what Trump is thinking. Oh, by the way, they have a one track mind when it comes to reporting on what THEY THINK Trump is thinking and it ain't peaches and cream like it was with King Negro!

If Trump did make a deal we haven't heard him announce it yet. I don't see how anyone here allows themselves to be cucked by the media.

Give it up man.
Same as when we elected Allen West down here, the then new rising star in 2012 who ran as a Tea Party candidate here as our congressman, and he turned, we told him he wouldn't get re-elected. He ignored us for DC glitter and RINO praise.
Two years later we elected the biggest looser Dem ever, just to punish West for his selling us out. He couldn't believe it. Called for recount, after recount, but he still lost. Where is this rising star now?
Sellout's happen all the time, but we were the only district in recent memory that actually threw the bum out for not keeping with our wishes.
Last year we elected a pro Tramp candidate, and our district was pro Tramp in the EC. We are watching him also, and have let him know where we stand.
