Its been a hot motherlover here. Sopposed to be 106 tomorrow. Keeping the gardens watered has been a chore but so far ive been successful. Its all weeded up and looking good, much better than last yr when I was having back problems.

Up in Scandinavia we've got got 50s at night and 70s/80s days, but further south in Europe there's a huge heat wave/dome from Spain and Italy reaching north to England and Germany. Up to 115F.

Reminder = in Europe only a tiny percentage of dwellings and workplaces have AC...

Hundreds of "official" deaths from the extreme heat so far, and it's just starting.

I called my neighbors (twice) who are keeping an eye on my place and offered them our guest room since I installed AC, but so far they've turned me down, but they might reconsider over the next few days...

Check world temps out, interactive global map with zoom and time-line and more

Seems wetter than normal here. For the last few years been wetter than normal. When I 1st moved here 13 years ago I hardly ever needed AC. maybe 2-3 weeks from June til Sept. Now I need it all the time but mostly because of the humidity. temps dont drop down at night like they used to either. I could deal with hot and humid afternoons in the summer when it drops to upper 50's and lower 60's at night. Now the nights are uppers 60's to lower 70's. No relief from the humidity.

90s and I needed to trim the hedges for wife unit's birthday party tonight. You can mop me up off the floor with a sponge right now.

If I was vaxxed I'd probably be on the way to the emergency room right now.

Blame it on the heat, not the booze.

We've had 16.11" of rain this month in Charleston... but its the lightning.. man have we had some great strikes. Took out the neighbors shed in flaming glory, another strike fried most of the internet cables around here.... my grass is knee deep, but dealing with round three of the gift that keeps giving, so it'll just have to wait.

Local photo of lightning hitting the ravenal....

cj,
That's our cities pride and joy... high tech like several from SE Asia.. best part is the wide walking path on the ocean side. Hundreds and hundreds of people walk it everyday and its almost seven mile loop... making it the hardest bridge to drive across in the area, too much distraction

Most people here who dont have basements rely on public shelters. Not many private storm shelters in this area.

i see he was signed in this morning, I guess he is ok.

I have a shelter room I built in the house ...but I live in a area where tornados are somewhat common....the room doubles as a vault...etc
