First. click on the SHARE link under the video in youtube.

Second. copy the link.

Third. reply to or begin a thread.

Fourth. click on the ladder icon above the advanced text box
(it looks exactly like the first one in the pic below).

Fifth. past the link you copied and click on 'OK'.

You'll also need to add 10 letters of text minimum.

Sixth. Post. That will show the video image instead of just a link.

That's not really a ladder icon. It's two frames of movie film. Those are sprocket holes on the sides.

I know, but sometimes one has to use the lowest
common denominator to get the message across.

The reason I say this is that the film strip has been
there since day one and folks continue to post links
instead of the video image. It's not rocket science...

The 'other way' to post it is to use HTML with brackets.
Like this link but remove the space
after the last bracket.

Re: Request for advice on selling gold and silver coins.

I can post pics?

Do I just drag the pics into my post?
Yes, and No.

formatting bar.jpg

Notice the bar above when you start or reply to a post?

If you mosey over to the right you will see one that looks like a small film strip to the left of the quote balloon?

That is for YouTube videos. Copy the URL, click on the strip and past the URL.

The one next to it to the left is for pictures.

The way it works is you click on it and find the pic on your computer. Then upload the file.

You can also post URL pics there as well. Right click on the image and select image location.
Paste it in the space that pops up after you click on 'From URL'.

As for taking good photos. I'd pick TomD's brain. He's a master photographer.

Trial and error. If it's out of focus - breath out and shoot (like a gun) at the end of your breath.
Or maybe you are too close? Use a tripod?

If you have a fairly decent camera you can always crop it after getting a clean shot.
I use "Windows Photo Gallery". It's quick and dirty. "Paint" will also work

Use a flash. Use side lighting. If they are slabbed (in plastic) the flash might not work because of reflection. Improvise. Natural light?

If your jpg (preferred but it will also do bmp and png) is too large you'll get a message saying so.
You will need to reduce your pixels. 50K is plenty big. [The "formatting" bar above is 3.82K]

This one below is 28.4K

Embedding a link

The 'world' icon with a chain link is for embedding links such as this.

How I do it is this:

First, I have to select the word or words I want to act as a link. (you have to have someplace to 'put' the URL!)

then, I copy the URL of the site I want to link.

then I Click on the 'world' icon and paste the link ("into" the selected words). Click on "OK"

That should be enough HOWEVER it doesn't appear as a link.
It looks like any text on the page and unless you mouse over it you'll never find it as a link.

After I paste the link - and click "OK" - I click on the 'B' bold icon to bold the selection.

I then select the A black.jpg and choose blue color A blue.jpg and then I'm done.

This makes it 'look' like a clickable link.

Well see, I utbe and everything but I thought I had to log in and create a public persona with all my views visible to everyone.

Are you saying I can post videos anonymously?

Not at all, not sure how you got that from the above??

You are a "member" here and you can post pics and YouTube videos.

If you mean "log in and create a public persona" on YouTube? No, that is not the case.
Merely copy the URL (address) of the video and follow the instructions above.
