All the hard-working German burghers, who liked their jobs, and liked that German money was good, now...and chose to ignore that stench coming from the prison camp outside the city...

Nice delivery of his routine; but as it happens, I DO have a homeless shelter in my backyard. Two miles away.

Since a smallish mountain city isn't going to innately have a homeless problem; and since, effectively, the whole of our city government is escaped from LA...we have to IMPORT homeless!

The filth, the loitering. Every year, several thousand tons of trash are hauled out from under a low bridge that goes over the Clark Fork flood plain. The homeless live down there as thick as they do in LA.

And meantime there's jobs all over the place. They don't want to work. They want to drink and panhandle. The homeless shelter is three years new. There WAS a nice supermarket, an independent local, just a block away.

It ain't nice no more. It had to Go Ghetto to survive. No more outdoor table to eat what you bought out of the deli - because the winos out of the homeless shelter would go, buy their muscatel or Night Train or whatever...and sit on the benches and drink, in their filthy pants and glassy eyes.

No, to me, NIMBY is a reasonable reaction. But closing your eyes to unsustainable tyranny by crazed losers, is not a solution.

Senator Asks DOJ If Hunter Biden’s Chinese Business Deals Complied With Foreign Agent Registration Law



Senate Finance Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley called on the Justice Department Tuesday to assess whether Hunter Biden and his uncle, James Biden, should have registered as foreign agents of China for their work with a Chinese energy firm.



According to a Senate report released in September, the Chinese company, CEFC China Energy, wired Hunter Biden at least $5 million from August 2017 through October 2018 to help develop investment deals for the company in the U.S. and other countries.



CEFC also paid Biden’s law firm $1 million in March 2018 to represent Dr. Patrick Ho, a former CEFC executive who was indicted for bribery related to business deals in Africa.



CEFC’s former chairman, Ye Jianming, reportedly has links to the Chinese Communist Party and was an official with a group tied to the People’s Liberation Army.



James Biden, who is the younger brother to President-elect Joe Biden, worked with Hunter Biden on the CEFC project, according to emails obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation.



In a letter to Attorney General William Barr, Sen. Grassley asserted that CEFC was “an extension of the Chinese government,” and that the firm intended to influence U.S. policy and public opinion on behalf of Beijing.



“CEFC was the perfect vehicle to bring financial benefits to the communist regime under the guise of a private sector company,” Grassley wrote to Barr.



“CEFC is clearly a foreign principal as defined by FARA [Foreign Agents Registration Act] and Hunter Biden’s and James Biden’s work for CEFC directly benefitted the communist Chinese government thereby making them potential agents of that government.”



Grassley asked Barr to disclose any investigation into whether Biden should register under FARA, or whether he was ever notified that he should register under the law.

8 times out of 10 I'll be talking to somebody and inevitably they'll start talking about some TV show or some movie and then they'll ask me if I've seen this or if I seen when so and so..... And I matter-of-factly say, "I don't watch TV."

Swear to God. My favorite was the 60 something year old X hippie guy who was talking about his television bill being $300 a month. Apparently trying to impress me. And I was like "damn that's ridiculous" or something like that and then he says said, well "how much do you pay?"

I also have a portable antenna that I will hook up to the TV once or twice per year to watch significant events like the State of the Union Address or the presidential debates. I make my kids watch them so that they understand how special the United States of America is and that it is worth fighting for.

As for TV, we have a 47" flatscreen. We record everything and zip through the commercials. I don't think we saw one campaign ad.

Mostly watch the Hallmark Channel where everyone has a happy ending. Wife likes wholesome - good for the spirit stuff.

Wife watches while I surf. Sports nut she is and I 'tag' along - while surfing of course! I have Sony noise cancelling headphones that are the bomb!

It's why I know so much. Multitasking. I surf a lot. The only 'real' TV I watch is on the puter... Youtube vids that get posted here.

We use a Firestick and can watch YT on the Tv.
