It been an open secret that the Drudge Report had a voluntary or involuntary takeover about midyear last year. The exact time of the translation was a little hard to spot but within the space of a few months the the transformation from a pro to anti-Trump was complete. But, even so, it wasn't nearly as blatant as now. Now, every, and I mean EVERY headline is composed to do maximum damage to Trump as possible. There's also a negative Trump spin to most of the other stories.

I wonder who bought it and whether it was a straight up business deal of if, maybe, there was a little of "inducement" in there.

Wonder what the most viewed website on the planet cost to take over? A few hundred million? Chicken feed if it helps give them lasting power.

On the top shelf.
I noticed too. It looks like someone made Matt Drudge a Andrew Brietbart deal. Take it or wind up like him.

Kind of disconcerting to see considering the site has turned its back on its audience that propelled it to its heights.

Yeah, they get lots of hits because the page refreshes every minute or so. Not even enough time to read all the headlines. Leave the browser open all day and you're liable to generate a couple hundred 'visits'.

Hope whoever bought is losing a SHIT ton of money. Dumb as a box of rocks. Oh well. Nice thing about the internet you can say NEXT. Haven't even checked it in months.

Former Trump-lover Ann Coulter has turned against The Donald too, though at least she has her reasons: failure to build the wall, pandering to the BLM crowd, screwing up the Covid response. etc.

In the Web World, "hits" isn't a useful measurement, as you point out, it is inflated.

The indicator that advertisers focus on is unique visitors per day.

I do wonder whose footing the bills for all these anti-DJT publishers and writers.
