We just released a new episode called “3rd Shot Drive". When you get a short return of serve you might want to DRIVE the ball back. Deb demonstrates drives down the middle and roll to the sideline. This then creates new options like 5th shot drop or a kill shot. Lots of slow motion should help you see the follow thru and paddle angles. As with any shot, drill and practice are essential for success.

This past summer pickleball players from around the world gathered to make history in Madrid, Spain as they competed in teams from North America and Europe at the first ever Bainbridge Cup, named for pickleball’s place of birth. In the inaugural battle, Team North America came out on top bringing the trophy home with them. We just released a new episode called “Get the Hard Ball Back". When someone slams a high ball down to keep you back, GET THE BALL BACK by blocking it! Deb shows two drills to do this: 1. Just block it back and 2. Alternately get it back and then drop it. As with any shot, drill and practice are essential for success.

Check out Stephanie Lane and Vivian Edwards as they take on Cammy MacGregor and Jennifer Dawson in the Women’s 5.0 Skill Doubles 50+ Gold Medal Match at Grand Canyon State Games last month. This match-up went to three games plus a FOURTH TIE-BREAKER GAME that showcased these four amazing pickleball players. The score is tied up multiple times, and neither team is willing to give up. Their stamina and skill makes this game one to watch.
