Credit to: Tax News : Profitability or integrity? Why not both?

Growth and profitability have been at the crux of the corporate agenda and defined the way businesses function. Companies have nevertheless encountered challenges while trying to achieve these goals, which have inevitably required them to sometimes ‘work around the way of the land’.

For instance, it is a common concern that in certain regions or sectors or business dealings, it is impossible to carry out tasks without greasing palms. This is because of archaic perceptions and practices that consider these practices indispensable to running day-to-day operations as well as ensuring sustainability in the long run. Earlier, this mind-set often overlooked unethical behaviour as long as the business was running smoothly and was in the companies’ favour. But today, such moral outlook is changing.
Why not both?
Because not many folks can manage to pull off both?

The rigid and unnecessary rules and regulations of the modern corporate climate has created an atmosphere of endless twists turns and seemingly impossible means to achieving true entrepreneurial success (success within oneself and without).

What I have found is that within much of this government created business culture, there is a tiny little path one can take, a path of self-authority and integrity, that puts all those who are bought and paid for to absolute shame on all levels i.e. this middle path is the path of ultimate empowerment and boundless success and happiness--it requires stepping into waters that are largely unknown to top level executives and working people alike.

This is because this area of functioning exists outside of the 'normal' or conditioned realm of reality; social consciousness etc.

The problem is that no honest business will be able to compete when all of its competitors are cheating. The only way to have such an honest business is to find some niche where there is no competition. If you do find that and it is lucrative, you won't be able to keep it for yourself for long.

Good point. This is where creativity comes into play. For example, in some industries a small guy can out do a large corporation on profit margin due to low or no overhead. And, this industry might be something that others lack the skills for, rendering the competition that much less. There will always be some sort of competition, but there's only one of you.

In addition there are niches that people [Collectivist types] are just afraid to move forward into as they are not geared for true entrepreneurship (as in realistic creative individual initiative of any kind).

The above-said rigid mentality cannot and will not step outside of its comfort zone for fear of failure and loss of stature--and identity. The individual who plays by a different set of rules is not concerned with these matters. His goal is true freedom and because of this he is willing to do things the other guy will never do. Including being patient.

It all comes down to the collective's fear of independence, individuality and freedom. They have no power in this arena.

Liberty minded individuals do (or should cultivate it), no matter what their endeavor may be.

another point with that is the corporations are bound by structure, board of directors, shareholders, .gov, etc.

The amount of regulation they endure is a large reason many operate in the manner they do.

It is possible ed222, as I have known a number of operators that knew how to make money as a business, but operated with honesty and integrity at all times. Amazing people really, to draw that line as Primal illustrates, and follow that path.
