What's that saying....... it's cheaper to keep a customer than to acquire a customer?
Didn't gillette have the majority of the entire world shaving market? Isin't it part of Berkshire Hathaway's portfolio?
Wonder what it costs to try to lure a customer back that left for good reason AND has found better cheaper alternatives that don't offend the customer.

9th Circuit: Idaho must give transgender inmate reassignment surgery. State will appeal

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Friday ruled that the state of Idaho must provide gender confirmation surgery for transgender prison inmates.

The ruling stems from a lawsuit filed by Adree Edmo, 31, an inmate who was born male but identifies as a woman.

Edmo is incarcerated at the Idaho State Correctional Center, a 2,166-bed men’s prison south of Boise. Edmo is serving a sentence of three to 10 years for sexual abuse of a child under 16 in Bannock County.

In 2017, Edmo sued the Idaho Department of Correction and its medical provider, Corizon, contending that the state’s refusal to provide her with gender confirmation surgery amounts to cruel and unusual punishment and causes severe distress because she has gender dysphoria. The condition occurs when the incongruity between a person’s assigned gender and their gender identity is so drastic that it impairs their ability to function.

U.S. District Court Judge B. Lynn Winmill ruled in Edmo’s favor and ordered the state to provide the surgery. The state appealed to the 9th Circuit.

In its Friday ruling, the 9th Circuit concurred with Winmill that denying Edmo the surgery amounted to cruel and unusual punishment, a violation of the U.S. Constitution.

“We apply the dictates of the Eighth Amendment today in an area of increased social awareness: transgender health care,” concluded the appeals panel in its 85-page opinion. “We are not the first to speak on the subject, nor will we be the last. Our court and others have been considering Eighth Amendment claims brought by transgender prisoners for decades. During that time, the medical community’s understanding of what treatments are safe and medically necessary to treat gender dysphoria has changed as more information becomes available, research is undertaken, and experience is gained.”

Idaho Gov. Brad Little said Friday that the state will appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.

“The court’s decision is extremely disappointing,” Little said in a written statement. “The hardworking taxpayers of Idaho should not be forced to pay for a convicted sex offender’s gender reassignment surgery when it is contrary to the medical opinions of the treating physician and multiple mental health professionals. ... We cannot divert critical public dollars away from the higher priorities of keeping the public safe and rehabilitating offenders.”

Idaho Department of Correction spokesman Jeff Ray said the department is still reviewing the ruling and has no comment at this time.

If the procedure is performed, it would be the first time in the nation an inmate has undergone gender reassignment surgery while in custody.

Shortly after taking office in January as Idaho’s new governor, Little issued a statement about his decision to appeal Winmill’s order to the 9th Circuit. New Idaho Department of Correction Director Josh Tewalt said at the time: “We take seriously our responsibility to provide adequate care to those in our custody. ... But prison is not where you go to get unwarranted surgery. We’re confident subsequent rulings will agree.”

Greta Thunberg Sailed To New York To Avoid Contributing To Climate Change. There’s Just One Problem.

Climate-change activists are the best spokespeople for why climate change isn’t at the top of most Americans’ concerns and why their policies would be detrimental to everyone but the very wealthy.

Greta Thunberg, the 16-year-old climate activist, arrived in New York City on Wednesday after sailing across the Atlantic on a yacht with solar panels and wind turbines. Forget the fact that carbon is emitted during the construction of the yacht and solar panels. CBS News reported the yacht “had no kitchen, no heating, no fridge and no bathroom.” Thunberg took the yacht to raise awareness about the harmful emissions caused by taking commercial airlines.

But even though Thunberg and her crew sailed across the Atlantic using the yacht, it still has to get back. For that, the sailing team for the yacht, known as the “Malizia II” will be flown across the Atlantic to retrieve the vessel.

The Associated Press reported that two members of Team Malizia will be flown to the U.S. to retrieve the boat and will pay to offset the flight’s carbon emissions.

“A spokeswoman for Team Malizia said it'll be necessary to fly the crew to the U.S. because the high-profile trip with the 16-year-old Swedish campaigner that left Plymouth on Wednesday was arranged at very short notice,” the AP reported.

The spokeswoman, Holly Cova, told the AP in an email that “we only have one boat, so they cannot easily sail over to meet them." She said this was “an imperfect solution” but thought that offsetting the flights to retrieve the boat was “better than doing nothing.”

German news outlet Der Spiegel reported that four flights are required to get team members to the U.S. to retrieve the boat and for other crew members to return.

“Four flights would also have been incurred if Swedish climate activist Thunberg and her father had flown from Europe to the special climate summit in New York and back instead of sailing with the racing yacht Malizia II,’” the outlet reported.

To offset the carbon emissions created by the flights, the team is paying “organizations that use them to finance climate-friendly projects and thus save emissions elsewhere.”

This underscores the fact that being climate-friendly is much easier for the wealthy, who can continue to live as they do now and pay other people to help the planet. For the rest of us, we have to uproot our lifestyles to comply with climate policies.

This same scenario plays out among celebrities and politicians who take private jets while claiming the world will end if we don’t reduce our climate footprint. In January, The Daily Wire’s Emily Zanotti reported that celebrities and activists took more than 1,500 private jets to attend a posh climate change event in Switzerland. Leonardo DiCaprio — one of Hollywood’s biggest proponents of climate change hysteria — continues to use yachts and private jets, as does former Vice President Al Gore. They also have multiple homes and fly far more regularly than the average person, yet they pay others to reduce their carbon emissions so they don’t have to.

High School Bans Student After He Goes To Shooting Range With His Mom, Snapchat Post

https://www.dailywire.com/news/5121...tm_content=083019-news&utm_campaign=Actengage

A 16-year-old student at a Colorado high school was informed by the school district Wednesday that he was not allowed to return to classes until the school could conduct an investigation into an anonymous tip that he had posted "threatening" content online.

In a story that has gained national attention from conservative sites, including RedState, the parents of a junior at Loveland High School learned Wednesday that their son could not appear on campus until the Thompson Valley School District (TVSD) conducted a full investigation into a "Safe-2-Tell" anonymous tip prompted by a Snapchat post by their teen son.

As reported by Complete Colorado, 16-year-old Nathan Myers and his mother Justine Myers went to a shooting range on Tuesday, a moment that Nathan celebrated by posting a video on Snapchat showing some of the guns they were going to bring, including hand guns and an AR-15. The caption for the post read, "Finna be lit," which he explained to Complete Colorado is just slang used among his peers meaning he's "excited" about the chance to go to the range with his mom, who he hadn't seen in a few weeks due to his parents being separated.

"While we were at her house getting ready to go, I took a video of five or six pistols and an AR-15," Nathan told the outlet. "None of them were loaded, they were all in their cases."

"We had a great day," said Justine, a self-described gun enthusiast. "This is what we do. Nathan has been shooting many times with us. We are huge Second Amendment supporters."

Nathan also posted video of them at the range:

When they returned from shooting, Justine learned from messages left by Nathan's father that police officers had come to the house asking about his initial Snapchat post.

"His father told them he was out shooting with me, I am an avid shooter," Justine explained. "So, the officers said he wasn't in trouble and left."

Though the family thought the issue was settled, the next morning they were informed by the school district that Nathan could not return to classes.

"I called to ask why I couldn't go, and they said it was a safety concern because the student who reported it was scared I was going to shoot up the school," Nathan said.

The Myers say Nathan has never had any conflict with another student, enjoys a large circle of friends, and has no criminal record.

The Myers' "threat assessment hearing" with TVSD was scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday.

Pro-Second Amendment site Rally for Our Rights' Lesley Hollywood reports that she spoke with Justine, "as well as two different attorneys who specialize in Second Amendment issues," and found that the school "is legally within their rights at this time."

"According to the attorneys, the school has a protocol that must be followed when a report of a threat comes in through Safe 2 Tell or other means, even if the report is completely false – and there is nothing parents or students can legally do about it, even with a lawyer," she reports.

Complete Colorado notes, however, that Colorado-based pro-Second Amendment organization Rocky Mountain Gun Owners "posted on Facebook that it would supply the family with legal representation if the student’s story 'bears out as first reported.'"

Complete Colorado reached out to Weld County Sheriff Steve Reams to get his reaction to the situation. After sending him the Snapchat post with no context, the outlet asked Reams for his interpretation of the post. He said he thought it just seemed like a kid excited to go to a firing range. When he learned about the school district's response, he expressed disbelief.

"This is exactly the mechanics of the Red Flag Law," Reams told the outlet. "Someone filed an anonymous complaint, without the other person knowing it was being filed, but instead of him being deprived of his Second Amendment rights, he’s being deprived of his ability to go to school without due process."

The teen simply "exercised his First Amendment right to use his Second Amendment right," said Reams, adding, "I hope this doesn’t make him fear that in the future."

Actor Fires Back At People Hoping Dorian Will Destroy Trump’s Florida Resort

Hurricane Dorian is sweeping toward Florida right now and the forecasts are ominous.

"Dorian is a Category 2 hurricane and is forecast to intensify into a powerful Category 4, posing a prolonged danger that may last days to Florida and the southeastern United States over Labor Day weekend," The Weather Channel reports.

"As the exact track of Hurricane Dorian is becoming more certain, with a strike along the central Florida Atlantic coast the most probable outcome, the tropical cyclone is likely to unleash torrential rain and raise the risk of flooding after landfall next week," Accuweather notes. "Following major impact to lives and property due to high winds and coastal flooding, heavy rain and inland flooding may be Dorian's second wind over the southeastern United States."

President Donald Trump — whose Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach is currently in the crosshairs of most computer models for the path of the storm — warned on Twitter that Dorian could be an "absolute monster."

"All indications are it’s going to hit very hard and it’s going to be very big," Trump said in a video, comparing the coming storm to the historic Hurricane Andrew, which destroyed thousands of homes south of Miami in 1992 when it made landfall with winds above 165 miles per hour.

But "Trump Derangement Syndrome" has prompted some people to express their desire that the hurricane directly hit Trump's resort.

Former Canadian Prime Minister Kim Campbell — who called Trump a "motherf***er" just days before he was inaugurated — said precisely that.

"I’m rooting for a direct hit on Mar-a-Lago!" she wrote on Twitter (she later deleted the tweet).

Others have also gleefully piled on, hoping for the destruction of Trump's resort.

But actor Allen Covert, who has starred in and written several movies with Adam Sandler, including "Happy Gilmore" and "Anger Management," took aim at all those haters.

"My family lives about 10 miles from Mar-a-Lago so all of you people cheering the fact that Dorian might wipe it out can kindly go f[***] yourselves. You have sunk so low in your hatred that you have become worse than what you hate," the actor wrote on Twitter.

Others expressed disgust at Campbell's tweet.

"One thing is evident from the comments. Anti-Trumpers are NOT the kind, loving, wonderful people they pretend to be," wrote one person on Twitter.

"If there’s any question as to how vile, violent, and intolerant the Left is, simply read the tweets, it will tell you exactly who they are," wrote another.

But Canadians, as everyone knows, are generally the most polite people in the world — and one resident of Ontario took to Twitter to apologize on his country's behalf.

"On behalf of Canada, I'd like to apologize to all our American brothers & sisters for the remarks of our once & very brief PM, Kim Campbell. She was useless then & now she's less than that, wishing Hurricane Dorian to hit Mar-a-lago. She's just an ass, she doesn't represent" Canada, wrote Brian E. Reid.

I hope they make the push sooner. In 10 years, I'll have to have mine mounted on my walker. Maybe I'll have something belt fed by then too.

That was weird. The tone of it. The strange thought patterns. Do these folks really think that whitey is out to keep them down, or out to just “get them?” I wonder if that is honestly their experience with white people, or is it just their social programming. The propaganda must be thick as gelatin.

Yeah - that pretty much sums it up ... Add to it that they're that gullible and ever so willing to play the victim .... So basically they get to play both the 'R' card and the 'V' card.

"After promoting "diversity" and importing countless Third World migrants into America, where does Barack Obama retreat to?

He dropped $15 million on a house in Martha's Vineyard. Martha's Vineyard is ALMOST 90% WHITE.

Where I live we have Constitutional carry and all the cops, including the Police Chief live here in town, so does the Fire Chief and all the town workers. All the surrounding towns are the same as mine. There's at least 2 gun shops in every town and everyone owns at least several shootin' irons and/or a few pistola's of some sort!

No one is coming here to take anyone's guns away for a while and when they do, it won't be the local of even the State cops coming for them. The commies need to send the UN or the US Army if they want this town's guns!

They're going right after the conservative negroes.....these are not your Daddy's Democrats, these are Bolshevik subversives who deserve a lot more attention than they're currently getting from the rest of us! The longer we wait to push back the more ground we give up. There is no solution that involves voting, talking, negotiating or compromising. The options left to us for regaining our country are becoming fewer and fewer the longer we have to wait for 'The Plan' to get it's lazy ass moving!!!
