Gold has turned up too though.

I'd much rather have gold than paper currency anyway.

I've been watching the USD for the past couple weeks. I was waiting for this breakout, and am now long UUP via calls. Will buy more if we retest the breakout level.

longer view going back of the dollar,

you can see last time it put in a major bottom, it triple tapped it then rose all the way to 120

is it possible after this triple tap bottom, that it does the same?

If so, then what happens to metals and oils?

this is actually pretty darn important as we had just started to get a run on in metals, and this could nip it in the bud if it doesn't fall back off.

One would think the fed would not like the dollar index going up.

I'm keeping a close eye on gold & silver here. I'd say we are at a medium term top in the metals and miners, but the consolidation patterns in the mining shares over the past couple weeks are bullish. It appears clear after today that the USD is heading higher, now I need to see what the metals do.
All I know is I want a nice pullback so I can buy more GDXJ LEAPS at discount prices!

"right on cue, metals and oil getting the hammer this am"
You really didn't think that TPTB were going to let the bullion prices continue to rise. Did you?

who the hell in their right mind (with the dollar skyrocketing) would buy t bills yet, why not just buy gold, do people really have their head in the sand that much that they believe the dollar will be around in 18 months?

$100 says the dollar will still be around in 18 months?

I'll take that bet all day long... You in?
two reasons why the dollar is strong, 1) everything else is worse off, and 2) China owns us, meaning (U.S.A.)

I don't know the timeline of the collapse, Duetsche Bank is the captain driving the world economic ship right now, (or maybe the anchor if you are pessimistic).

I am up for the bet...I am now thinking a 5 ounce silver bar, right now all in at $107 fiat dollars, could be worth $600 in 18 mo though.

Gold coiled yesterday and is ready to strike. Magic 8 ball says we're headed over 1400 now.

You're on the right track scorp. Now pull up the 1year silver chart. Tell me what you see as of June this time last month. Next, compare it to the gold, chart until today.

I'll hang up and listen.

I am still short metal stocks if that tells you anything,

don't know how long I will hold them, but long enough to book the profits, then rinse repeat

in a different thread it was stated they went on day before yesterday in the afternoon,

missed part of the move, but they are fine even after today,

tomorrow being bow tie day, where they wrap up the week, will give us more short term direction

fwiw, definitely not long term holds or even medium term, they are strictly hit and runs

Maybe the dollar is strengthening because cryptocurrencies are in the crapper? People tend to flee shaky investments...but don't take the time to realize that fleeing them make them more shaky. Anyway...just my $.02.
