WASHINGTON — A Russian spy unit paid members of Afghanistan’s Taliban movement to conduct lethal attacks on U.S. troops in that country, according to a classified American intelligence assessment, people familiar with the report said.

The assessment of the role played by Russia’s military intelligence agency, the GRU, in fostering attacks on American soldiers, comes as President Trump is pushing the Pentagon to withdraw a significant portion of U.S. forces from Afghanistan and as U.S. diplomats try to forge a peace accord involving the Taliban and the U.S.-backed Afghan government.

I fail to see how that'd be any different than the US(cia) arming the Mujaheddin to battle soviet forces back in the day. US forces do not belong there, and will ultimately leave without accomplishing jack squat...unless one considers the enrichment of military contractors to be worthwhile endeavors. I do not. The last time Bin Laden allegedly died was 9 freaking years ago. GTFO already.

the Real News here:
if it's classified, how is it we 'know' about it???
After seeing the media people literally make stuff up over the last 4 years, this might simply be another lie.

I get the sentiment of not trusting anything .gov says. I understand it.

But - when you look back over the last 4 years or so and simply assess the overall veracity of the MSM in general...IN GENERAL...one cant help to walk away with a very deep distrust of anything they have to say. And then when you take a good look at the veracity of the person (in this case Ratcliffe) making the denial...

Well - lets just say that the preponderance of the evidence leans heavily on the side of Ratcliffe being the honest broker in this situation...

It doesn't matter what these "people familiar with the report" think.

I get where he's coming from too but FR needs to be a bit more agile in his thinking these days

All that will be coming to an end. If you think otherwise then you're not following along

Is that a Q-drop?

What happens when Q inevitably disappears?
