Why do we still display the Kitco ticker?

Just putting it out there...

Do they contribute to the site? It works sporadically and lately hasn't been consistent with most other spot levels prices out there,

Just wondering if we can change to a more reliable and accurate ticker

Why even display the price of paper gold and silver? It's pretty meaningless at this point. We can all go to dealers websites and find out what the metals really cost.

I think they have tried to change the ticker at least 2x and unfortunately kitco is the most reliable. There was a skirmish over the ticker about a decade ago if you remember.

While it isn't perfect we do know what kitco is.....personally I like that at a quick glance I can see if prices are up or down etc....if specifics are important I go look elsewhere
I do agree. Half the time the ticker isn't current and during those times its useless. Like other's here I just go another dealer's website to get current info if I'm looking for it

So isn't a kick in the ass but I'm sure I wouldn't take one voluntarily.

says 21.04 right now. The ticker is what it is. According to Scorp the Kitco ticker is the one that works best and I have no reason to doubt him. Trust me, complaining about it isn't going to do any good.

I ignore it, because it is never right, and unreliable because it usually breaks whenever there is a crisis.
Not very helpful for those holding short or long. Best to use your own brokerage house price, especially when approaching stops or effecting a trade.

Just click on the ticker to get the current spot prices and just leave the Kitco tab open in your browser or do the same with your favorite brokerage house's website

what IF your brokerage house used a ticker that was 10 minutes delayed?...you wouldn't know unless you asked and were given an honest answer

Kitco is there. It sold me gold, when I didn't know where else to buy it; and good price or not, I always got what I ordered, and securely and promptly.

Sixteen years later, I know how and where to buy and sell. But as noted, Kitco is a known quantity, and the ticker is convenient.

I hold no ill will; it's just not the best place to go, anymore, if it ever was.

no it's not. Silver was around 17 last November.
Like I said, off the reservation. Glad to see someone is paying attention. The devil's in the details. Check out the Palladium price.

Because it’s fun to watch it display a price once in awhile that is several hundred dollars under the spot price? Like today?

All the bullion dealer's websites show silver at $28.43, except Kitco which shows $28.32. https://www.kitco.com/ But the real price of real silver is what it actually sells for.
